Not to quibble, but isn’t the Dawgs’ one win against a half-rostered Minnesota team in an exhibition game that decided the Helms title?
I'm more interested in the history of the 12 ties. How did UW play and tie a #1 twelve times? 3 or 4 other programs, like Michigan, Mich. State and Oklahoma also have a bunch of ties playing #1.

It’s 12 losses. 1-12 with the one win being in the Rose Bowl presented Helms Bakery after the 1960 season that didn’t count for the final polls.
