long time favorite and the #1 beer that most people picked in the party dawg blind taste test back in the day…
Never got into Dos Equis.
Bohemia is probably my REAL favorite of this category, but I never seem to see it in cans and it's not nearly as readily available. Ergo, Pacifico, is my go to and I can drink the shit out of that beer. Also, it's only 4.4% just like Modelo so similar low ABV benefit with better flavor than Coors, Miller or Bud Light. I don't care about calories in beer, per se, but sometimes it's nice to drink 5 beers and get the 6th one for free (in terms of alcohol usage).
Pacifico is a close second. People forget that #MyKrauts were responsible for most of the major beer brands in Messico. They forget that.
I didn't forget, Pal!
It's why I bought you and @Baseman a round of Pacifico tall cans at the Zone!!
I'm no expert by any stretch, but I like my lager light and tasting like lemon instead of like lager. Pacifico for me.
Negra Modelo, and it's not close.
El Quattro Reich Brewing?
@1to392831weretaken how is Negra Modelo a "yella piss" Lager beer?
Modelo Negra beer – brewed twice as long as other beers, this Munich Dunkel style lager gives way to a rich flavor and remarkably smooth taste.
Is this why our Audi has Quatro?
Tecate, Modelo, Dos Equis are interchangeable to me - all good. I buy that which is on sale or cheapest (most inexpensive) as the price of beer gets ridiculous at times. The last purchase was Modelo only because I did not feel like driving and walked to the corner store. It was all the Mexican beer they had…
This would have gotten my vote but I haven't been able to find it in years
Can confirm that Mabel buys only the cheapest beer!
I still NEVER fruit the beer
I found Pacifico to be most like the domestic beers of my choosing
Hate Corona
Dos Equis is alright
Only time I had a Sol it was brought to me by a child at a bullfight in Puerta Vallarta
I was in Mazatlan and ordered a Pacifico - first time ever having it, the damn brewery was in town, they used water out of the ocean I think, twas a long green piece of what appeared to be kelp in the bottle. I have stayed away from Pacifico since. Corona is cheap ass beer in Mexico, put in fancy bottles for tourists.
Pacifico is my go to, now and forever. Quick story…
Back in the early 80's, just out of school, my boys and I hung out at a bar, and became friendly with one of the owners. He would vacation yearly in Mexico, usually by boat, out of San Diego. One year, he came back to town and told us he had something for us. We came in, and one of the servers delivered Corona Extra, ice cold, with a plate of lime wedges.
We all looked at each other like "WTF is this?"…he came to the table, showed us the deal (squeeze lime, dunk lime, thumb on top to float it, over the shoulder) and we were in…it drove people crazy…"What are those? Can I have one of those?"…Like we say, NO. He had a big plastic garbage can in his office, filled with ice and water, and refilled frequently. We drank them most of the summer, gratis. This was my intro to Mexican beer, and by the time it got to 'Merica, we were over it.
One of my lasting memories of the guy was at an Apple Cup in Pullman, at the Coug post-game, he was unable to speak any legible English word, but "Corona"…RIP JB…(side bar: he WAS THERE on May 4, 1970 in Kent, Ohio)…
I became a Pacifico guy, fucking bury them in Mexico, all day long. Will occasionally do Modelo up here, but I'm not much of a beer guy anymore…
#mynegra
The rest of the Mexican beers all look the same to me.
Except the Sol Chelada That shit is like crack Far superior to anything else out there
@YellowSnow cheladas are delicious AF and any of these beers will do.
I enjoy with or without limes. Both options are acceptable.
I bought him a white claw during the game. It went over well!
Probably why Base left HH!
I do have a soft spot for Corona, but Pacifico,is where it is at.
In high school when Corona took off (1986-87) we would drink that all the time. We ad the t-shirts and those Mexican ponchos things with a drawstring. We would go to parties and fill up the bottles with Schmidt and pretend to crack it open and sell a bottle of beer for $3. Which is how we could afford Corona back in the day.
