Believe it or not, Marcus Mariota is coming to Washington

Thought maybe he would be at the Jedd Fish super dope NFL coaching clinic. This works though.

I'm trying to hold down the malarkey fort while @GrundleStiltzkin is away
-
Going to the place where careers go to die
-
-
Well career is already dead so there's that. Is his mom gonna convince him to go somewhere else?
-
Gracias. This does needs to happen from tim to tim as long as the stink skin is on his sabbatical.
-
Not as dead as this bored.
Zing!
-
Always wanted to be a Husky.
Also, you never really know where a career might be salvaged. It's often in the unlikeliest of places. I've always liked him. Dude was beat up badly behind Tennessee lines that couldn't protect him and he got on that injury bug train. There are times you'd watch him play and think he totally belongs and should be a starter. Other times, it was like, yeah, career backup.
-
Career backup Drew Locke just got 5 million from the Giants to hold the clipboard
Nice work if you can get it
-
The funny part — at least to me — is that his performance last year convinced the Giants that he deserved a 25% raise over the $4 million he got from Seattle in '23. He played two games.
Not enough kids are targeting NFL backup QB as perhaps the best gig in the known world.
-
Penix is going to surpass him in the league. Water is wet.
-
Herbert's parents who raised him in Eugene came away from the UW visit wanting him to go there.
Washington is retarded.
-
yeah obviously. They just paid Marcus Mariota 6 million.
-
Best I can tell Mariota has made around 60 million dollars since 2015
-
When you start with “believe it or not,” it gives away the ruse.
-
”Marcus Mariota abandons Oregon, announces he is proud to wear the W on his helmet”
-
Did he get the injury train or did he get beat out by Ryan fucking Tannehill and that team go better with him?
-
And Kaepernick STILL can’t get a contract!!
Wow…just wow
-
Traitor
-
The only way this isn't one of the biggest recruiting blunders in program history to me is if they were pretty sure he would just flip to Oregon if they offered and losing him in that way at the last minute would have been a disaster.
-
I can't believe you guys believe this shit.
-
Yes you're right
-
Believe what you want but when Petersen was at his peak and really wanted a kid he could close the parents better than any coach in the conference, and did with Herbert's. It's also how he got Molden and flipped BB.
He only lost badly on that front with the Stanford kids.
-
Fuck man, you're right. Believing Herbert may have signed with UW before even the Oregon offer in 2016 is a wild notion.
-
He sucks ass and has the best job in the world - backup QB.
-
"Oregon's most celebrated son abandons pride and joins Washington Natives"
-
It's the same BS narrative that was spun around Mariota.
-
Huh? From my understanding the "narrative" is UW wanted Mariota and it came down to Oregon and Washington and he chose Oregon. UW recruited Herbert but like almost everyone else they never offered because of the injuries, but he would have seriously considered UW had they offered. Where is the BS?
-
That he wanted to go to UW but his parents made him honor his committment to Oregon. It's the opposite side of the same coin being pulled out of a doog's ass in this thread.
-
I don't think anyone has ever said this, especially considering was never offered. The narrative has always been resentment to Petersen and the staff for not offering/recruiting him.
