The genius of the SEC! SEC! SEC!

And for those of you who actually think that the Pac12 is as good as the SEC right now, as a "man" once said, you need to get some perspective. Just watch the Georgia v "USC" game and explain to me how any P12 team has played at that level this season. And, that's the SEC lEast. The media isn't the only reason why everyone in the country will be watching a couple of SEC games down in Mississippi tomorrow.

Dude, UW curb stomped Georgia 2 weeks ago. I don't care if Georgia beat up on USC, Sarks a crap coach and USC is on sanction, that's like hanging your hat on beat some sun belt school.

Typical "SEC is the best" logic.
Go watch 2 SEC teams travel 50 feet to play each other, LOOK AT HOW GOOD THEY ARE!!!
Fuck that.
The SEC has been the best conference because they have shown up for the big games. We will see what happens now that there is a playoff. -
SC Cocks have two losses and at least three or four PAC 12 teams could beat them, easy. Missouri lost to Indiana at home. HTHno_uh said:I'm not a conference loyalist. I will never cheer for Oregon (at least I never plan to), and I'll only cheer for WSU when they play Oregon. I don't care about any SEC team other than Alabama, except that the conference's success seems to aggravate certain bored members' mental health issues, and that amuses me. Regardless, as much as many of you hate the SEC, a large part of why that conference has so much success is due to their conference-as-one mindset. The continuous pumping eachother up has been a large factor in why the conference is good and is perceived as good. It's a self-fullfilling prophecy.

3 or 4 Pac 12 team would go into Columbia and curbstomp them.
SC Cocks would probably lose to EVERY P 12 team if they traveled west. -
Missouri is a Big 12 team and no one is talking about the SEC east this year
The Pac 12 is losing to MWC teams, the B1G, and barely beating D2 teams -
No shit, Lyle.RaceBannon said:I'm hearing the the playoffs will be big games
The top SEC team has been the best team in the nation more often than not this past decade.
That doesn't mean the rest of the SEC is anything extraordinary.
When a Pac-12 team plays a road game, they actually travel, often to a place outside of their comfort zone. UW flying down to Tucson to play in 110 degree heat is a lot more difficult than Miss State jumping on the bus to drive 2 hours to Baton Rouge. -
Just because you and Bill say the SEC doesn't travel doesn't make it so. The SEC conference has been the best conference the past decade. No one cares about the bottom half of the Pac 12 losing at Arizona in a tuff road game
-
The SEC is losing to the B1G and not scheduling any other games against decent conferences.RaceBannon said:

The SEC doesn't go on the road to play MWC or non power 5 conference teams. It's a joke that the Coogs do, but they belong in the MWC anyways.RaceBannon said:

You're doing the exact same thing I am.
My entire point is to let the fucking season play out. Hold off on your SEC circlejerking until January. -
Why? The SEC is proven year in and year out.
-
Other than Tennessee, they don't, at least with any kind of consistency. I remember Alabama played Penn State like 25 years ago... that was a long time ago.RaceBannon said:Just because you and Bill say the SEC doesn't travel doesn't make it so. Travel means actually leaving the south or east Texas. It's not Tallahassee, Atlanta, wherever the hell Clumpson plays, NC schools, or cozy "neutral" games at Jerry World, the Georgia Dome, or Houston, where 50,000 of their fans show up.
I remember Arkansas& Auburn getting curbstomped by USC in the 2000s in the mausoleum (rofl). LSU beat 5-7 Warshington in 2009. Big deal. -
The SEC big wigs have proven themselves this past decade, there is no denying that.RaceBannon said:Why? The SEC is proven year in and year out.
But top-to-bottom, the SEC isn't that much better than the Pac-12 is. The Pac-12 has resorted to playing a riskier OOC slate in order to prove themselves versus the "omg Georgia is playing SC" crap.
Wake me when a SEC team plays @ Virginia and @ Texas in the same season, like #yourBruins.
The equivalent of that would be something like Georgia playing @ Oregon State and @ Utah in the same season.
Never going to happen. And it doesn't need to happen, so long as ESPN sucks off the SEC conference schedule. -
Because location matters more than the opponent?
#Pressing -
How does geographic location matter in regards to how tuff the game is? If it's a road game it's a road game. You think flying 2 extra hours is going to change that? Fucking stupid.
What you've done, because you got your asses whooped in the SEC doesn't play anyone argument, is moved the goal posts. First they didn't play anyone, proven wrong. Now all of the sudden they don't travel far enough. Because playing Florida State every single year is easy because it's in the same state. -
You're the one pressing.RaceBannon said:Because location matters more than the opponent?

location is just one factor to be considered, Einstein. Road games OOC are TUFF no matter what, especially against competition with a pulse.
Most SEC teams wouldn't know that. -

"Washingron State (dreck of the P12) is losing to MWC teams, the B1G, and barely beating D2."
Fixed that for you. See also Vandy. Or good ole Mizzou.
The P12 isn't horrible - just virtually indistinguishable (even) from top to bottom. The SEC is the best conference until their current sweet gig (schedule, etc) doesn't work any more.
Let just hope that the P12 doesn't get left out of the playoffs while the SEC gets two teams in.
We need a clear leader to emerge from the P12 and so far we got nothing. Zip. Nadda. The exact opposite of abundance.

Here's the thing about SEC SEC SEC.
Winners win. Losers lose. For the most part, the losing teams in the SEC don't make excuses or try to rationalize it. They do what they feel needs to be done to make themselves into a winning program. A lot of times that starts with firing the coach. The winners in the SEC are winners because they have figured out what needs to be done in every facet of the overall program to beat all the others. Competition breeds success, and that all stems from the fans, the boosters, the community, the coaches, and the media. When someone loses a game down there you don't here the bullshit rationalizing, and if you do you don't hear it tolerated by many, because excuses never lead to greatness. Part of that is cultural, and part of that is making winning college football games a priority.
They all hate each other's teams and there are differences in the fan bases, but there is an understanding that they all have the same goal as individuals, which is winning national championships and popping off. And as always, there is something to be learned from that that can be applied on so many levels. Some of you just need to dig deeper. -
"West coast teams traveling east" you fucking dumbshit. Think. It's not a travel issue, it's a time zone issue. So you fucking tell me who you want the SEC to play that's 3 hours ahead of them?PostGameOrangeSlices said:
