Did Bama finally pay Grubb's Washington contract buyout?
Only to have Grubb leave for the Seahawks?
This would be one of the funniest outcomes in all of this.
I realize they can afford it but they seemed to be doing everything they could to avoid paying the buyouts.

Rumor has it that Grubb never signed a contract with 'Bama so the answer would be no. Again, its only a rumor but it makes sense.

Pretty sure the answer is no but if they did they surely had him under contract and will receive their own buyout from the Hawks. There's no way they paid it without signing him.

Despite all the chatter of this alleged buyout, I still haven't seen an actual number referenced. Or even confirmation of a buyout existing.

Not true. Grubbs buyout was $0 if he went to a Div 1 HC or NFL OC job at UW. I’d assume he had the same for Alabama.

I’m sure this has been mentioned already but I think the incredible act of bad faith of continuing to present yourself as the bama OC while quite obviously negotiating your new gig as the hawks OC until the 30 day period was up for the transfer portal for Bama Players only to move on feels exactly like the bad faith exhibited by DeBoner during the lead up to the championship game… this is one big sleazy storyline for DeBoner and his loyal staff

The first part is true, $0 for D1 or NFL. Seattle Times had an article this time last year and it was $2m for another college OC job.
