Yes, but you’re forgetting that if they ever take over Ukraine, then they capture Poland the next day and the Soviet empire is back, baby!
How fucking unaware of reality does a person have to be in order to believe that could ever happen, and then use it as justification for spending tens of billions to Ukraine who are using dudes off the street to fight a stalemate while dying by the tens of thousands.
The idea that Putin could just march right through NATO Poland is only realistic when you remember Obama shit all over Poland and didn’t treat Russia as any threat.
These Leftist morons believe anything their politicians tell them.
. From their perspective, the Poles have made a series of outsized commitments to U.S. military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to watch as President Barack Obama sacrificed their interests on the altar of the Russian "reset."
Was speaking to the Capri-Sun guy who bought every bit of propaganda the last two years. I’ve read a lot more of the logical ‘this isn’t our war’ than WW3 hysteria in this thread from those opposed to sending blank checks to a corrupt sh*thole, however.
Who are the "anti-ukrainians," versus those who don't see it in the US interest to defend and constantly re-arm a politically corrupt country that is nothing like Poland strategically, economically, culturally or militarily? I have no beef with the Ukrainian people, but I do have a beef with their stupid asshole drag-queen President and the Obama-Era minions who installed him via a coup d' etat to replace the elected "pro-Russian" guy. Weep for the loss of the Donbas which was culturally Russian since the 1700s and under attack from Zelensky's Nazis for the past 5 years before the Russians invaded. The US has done and will continue to do the exact same thing if Americans are attacked outside US borders. Like England vs. Argentina in the Falklands, we cannot claim surprise that Russia decided to protect its own via annexation.
Then again, what's a more compelling and enlightened argument to spend US blood and treasure than "Russia Sucks?" No, @US_Doog_Bot, you're not saying that, but plenty of Chickenhawks continue to make that thread-bare argument, and I suppose will support Nikki Hailey as the next US Prez.
Russia doesn't suck, unfortunately. Their influence and growing allegiances w autocrats should be of concern to anyone with a shred of perspective, historical knowledge, foresight, and an ability to remove political bias from their assessment.
I must remain disciplined at this point and not engage too much more. There's not much convincing going on in here it seems. #SAD. I just hope you guys are following the correct sources re: Ukraine. Look at the facts as presented and form your own base of knowledge/thoughts. Not someone else's. Anything from a politically-charged rag, either side, is not your ticket to success. Circlejerks are even worse.
This is the one I read daily. I submit that nobody who follows the war needs much else. It's top notch.
You really want to assert with confidence what will happen? Everything is a grey area. Nothing is assured. There are thousands of scenarios based on various strategic decisions gamed out already at the DoD, UN, Nato, you get the point. And then there's risk inherent with all strategic decisions and possible outcomes. Some have less, some have more. And then there's an acceptable level of risk. And worst case scenarios. What are they? You tell me. Hard to say. Thought experiment though: If withdrawing Ukrainian support increases the chances of eventual much larger American involvement or formation of new global powder kegs by even just 10%, is that worth it? I like to pull weeds before they kill more flowers, not after. Even if I can't be assured that they will kill all the flowers. The risk is there if you don't yank that shit. Don't yank it and you may eventually have to spill American weedkiller all over your lawn.
I could argue we ARE leaving Russia alone. What are we doing, really? We're mostly sending depot stocks already produced. Of course those stocks are valued in dollars and those are the numbers often regurgitated without context. American defense manufacturing also replaces those stocks. Where does that money go? Pockets. It's really a can't lose proposition and we are "spending" pennies on the dollar, without any feet on the ground, in order to neuter Russia and hopefully prevent the possibility of future escalation. Pulling support is a risk you really can't take with this guy. Pulling Ukrainian support kicks the can down the road to a potential much larger involvement later. Foresight seems to be lost, contrarian politics have taken over, and the political gain of holding up aid packages up has taken precedent. We will pay the piper. What do you think Putin going to do if American support stops? Massacre the rest of Ukraine, throw up a Russian flag, call it good and go drink a Moscow Mule? Fuck nah, he will push the limits at every opportunity if given the chance, because that's what he does. Because that's what all autocratic bullies do until they are stopped. Just look to the numerous examples throughout history of what happens when you don't. You say Putin won't do shit. I say he might. There's a large philosophical difference here.

Cho Bai Den getting his cut off the Ukraine pensions too?
Vlad has to be pissed that the Iranians and Mexican cartels are getting US/Biden money instead
Good diversification move by Cho Bai Den.
Why shouldnt Biden get a mangement fee on the pension money?
Russia still tied up in a war they can't win? Good.
I'm hearing this was all part of their brilliant five year plan to take an oblast or two.

Glad Trump moved all those US troops to Poland.
It's almost as if Trump saw & sensed the future the Dems are oblivious to.

”The 1980s called…”
”Russian Reset…”

You can check, I've never made that argument.
Some of the anti-Ukrainians in this thred are worried that sending support to Ukraine is the start of WW3 though. Maybe take it up with them.

I'm sorry, want to provide the receipts?
I'm right.
You're wrong.
It's pretty simple.
Russia sucks and can't take more than a couple hundred KMs of land - from their neighbor.
That must really suck for you to witness. Sorry little buddy. Big Russia, at the end of the day, fucking sucks.
1980s vehicles and a few drones is all it takes. And Ukrainians fighting to not be a part of dumb fuck Russia.
I can't overemphasize enough how much Russia sucks. They can't even fly planes anywhere near the border.

Russia doesn't suck at everything. I like Russians. I like their vodka, women, dumplings, etc. There's a lot to like.
Putin's regime really sucks. And so does the regime's ability to wage pointless wars.
They do have a lot of nukes.
I guess we have different definitions of suck. They do suck by many definitions, but they're still a major threat that needs to be neutered/culled.
Why not just leave them the fuck alone?
Putin ain’t putting the band back together.
And the fact they have a shitload of nukes is another good reason to just leave them the fuck alone.

Our DoD, CIA and MIC dump the seeds for the weeds then want to go in and pull them
Russia has no agency?
@EverettChris I heard no one worries about Russian nukes or WW3.
Heaven's to betsy!
Demonrats are desperate to launder money. They are about broke.
60 billion for Ukraine and 20 for our border. Hmm...
