He is going to a fanbase that had ppl saying the game had passed Saban by as he won the conference and got into the playoffs with his least talented roster in years. Good luck.
Bama is not bama. It was Saban. Just like Florida is not Florida , it was urban and the ol ball coach before that.
About half the schools in the sec can become juggernauts with the right coach. His passing attack and game day coaching is elite. Not sure if that will be enough when they're going to be outbid by other schools in the same conference.
Bama and Florida’s histories aren’t comparable in any way.
Yes, but UF, FSU and Miami all love to live under some delusion that they're traditional powers.
To some extent, Oregon seems to live under that delusion, too.
Traditional powers don't mean nearly as much any more except for the olds to argue about at the bar.
Get a coach that can coach. Have a fanbase that can fork out for the talent. Win games and repeat.
Ole Miss is getting a bunch of defensive talent this round in the portal the whole country wanted. It's not because of their history of dominant defenses or tradition. We will see if their staff can do anything with it, but that is how the game is played now.
The fucking sad part, and what I continually think about and sob, is that dipshit had cemented his legacy at UW from these last 2 years. Coulda been a golden god and had a couple of aloha and freedom bowl seasons and we still would put up the statue and talk fondly about you 40 years later. FUCK!
And Nick Saban still has an office there
Lambo brought out the purple helmets to separate from James. Didn't work because he didn't win
And he wasn't an outsider
Lambo beat Saban. And, I was there. But still...........

After he ended the szn losing to orygun, ucla, and the cuogs. That was lambo's prob, gave us wins over A&M, tOSU, Miami, Saban, etc., but also gave us multiple bed shittings all while wearing the hideous purple lids
Kiffin, replacing Saban would be “the dumbest follow ever.”
He made the mistake of following both PC and Fulmer.
He’s biding his time for the next two years.
Hard agree. Kiffin is a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them. Following Saban is an impossible task. Bringing in the northerner to fail is smart. Let him take the fall, then Kiffin or one of fat fuck Jimmy's other guys swoop in as the hero to save Bammer from the pit of despair, and Jimmy profits even more. I can't wait to see DeBoer as Minnesota's coach in a few years. Going to be special when Fisch inserts the rusty conical downrigger weight(I'm still working on a fishing related replacement for cheese grater/plunger).

You're missing the point. Bama, LSU, Florida and UGA have been top 5 programs at different times. They have all sucked at different times. Saban builds a dynasty at any of those schools. Not just bama. Now that he is gone, there is no Saban discount for the bag hungry croots and transfers. It's not the same job it was a few weeks ago.
You’re missing the point. This isn’t an alternate universe.
In the world we live in Bama has more than twice as many national titles as Florida does conference titles.
In the world we live in Saban went to Bama and scared Urban out of the conference while Florida went on to ruin the careers of Muschamp, Durkin, McElwain, Mullen, and now Napier.

Depends on what you mean by traditional. Bama is now in its own class apart from literally everybody else due to what Saban did there. Before that, it was very debatable. I grew up with Bama being little more than Ok but for a short run with Gene Stallings, who was a good coach. But it was a blip.
Lots of teams, including those many "traditional" teams, go through long runs of mediocrity. But I wouldn't be so quick to shit on what at least Miami and FSU have contributed to the game. I don't see 5 titles and many other landmarks for Miami qualifying as "delusional". OTOH, individual markers that are almost entirely a function of being a good program for 85 years or more are not going to be in either program's record book for a while. If that's what you care about, then there's no arguing the point. I would say Florida State's run of 14 straight years of ending the season in the top 5 is a pretty impressive mark amongst all-time accomplishments.

DeBoer to my knowledge has never taken a job where his development chops were not priority 1. This is where Bama whiffed in my stupid opinion. DeBoer is a nice person who convinced some studly players not to leave the burning heap at Washington post Jimminy Criket Lake. The model was more simple: This team sucks, we can’t beat Montana the fan base left and I’m a shining knight that will resurrect The Greatness of The Washington Huskies. Worked out great for DeBoer and the fans came back.
The Alabama model is drastically different. Nick Saban was a car salesman that attracted 5 star players year after year. He’s also a great coach and hired great coaches to put great players in positions to destroy the competition. Rinse and repeat. DeBoer will not be “Developing” these 5 star players because he won’t need to. Can he be a car salesman in the SEC? No idea. Doesn’t strike me as that and let’s be honest his recruiting skills were mediocre at best. Will Alabama turn into a developmental program for 3 and 4 star athletes. The answer is a resounding FUCK NO. DeBoer will be in the bread line fast after next years recruiting cycle if he can’t keep pace.

Lame kitten is fucking hilarious. His twatter trolls are witty and I love them.
Needs to work on his bedside manner when it comes to dealing with mental health issues and being recorded but no one other than me will remember that one.

Yours truly,
Stupid
He lies in State in the rotunda of Alabama’s Capitol, for as long as he wants, when his time comes.
100 years from now they tear down his statute because his team wasn’t diverse enough. Or something even dumber.
