Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.

Miley is going to be fine.

He'll settle in. He could use a little help from his lineman, WRs and OC. Dude was MONEY in the pocket last year with good WRs and a running game. Dawgman is shredding him. He's a baller. Give him a little time.

Outside of help needed from his linemen, WRs, OC and and running game...

Miley really sucks. But Budda Baker plays like a Duck. That guy will give you an edge at times.

I am going to give Miles the benefit of the doubt and say he just had a really shitty game. He hasn't looked that terrible in his other starts. Overall it is an offense problem with no corps being anything but mediocre of worse.

Someone else brought this up somewheres, that Stanford was just Miley's fifth start. Could be that was his first bad game. Entirely possible. Same token, he's only got a couple good games starting.

    Either way, it'll be interesting.

    Run the ball.

    Playaction off of that.

We suck at anything else that deviates from this.

Chris Ault is not walking through that door.

But I really like pistol, option play with the personnel we have. Not happening.

This sounds fucking retarded but I am beginning to think that a problem with Miley is that his confused look is very unbecoming for a starting QB. His eyes get wide and bug out a little and he looks about ready to take the snap facing the wrong direction. Compare that with Lindy who played equally shitty as Miles but against Hawaii instead of Furd. Lindy had that Will-Ferrell-Doing-George-Bush quality look of bizarrely inflated confidence where he thought he played pretty well and needed to clean up a few things despite the reality of his dumpster fire of an effort. Miles looked cool and collected last year at Oregon State and was good most the preseason. He should recover well.

Maybe Miley just did a little too many shroomies before the game, is what your saying

    ...Dawgman is shredding him...

This is just about the best vote of confidence Miles could receive.

How does Miles' 4-1 career record as a starter compare to other Husky QBs in recent memory? Here are the records for the first five starts of every QB who has started at UW since 1990:

    Miles 4-1
    Lindquist 0-1*
    Price 3-2
    Fouch 0-5
    Lockner 2-3
    Stanback 1-4
    Bonnell 1-4
    Paus 0-5
    Pickett 4-1
    Tuiasosopo 2-3
    B. Huard 4-1
    Fortney 1-1*
    D. Huard 4-1
    Hobert 5-0
    Brunell 4-1

*Got fewer than five career starts. (No, I haven't forgotten Johnny Durocher and Ted Stark. Both got meaningful action, but neither ever started a game.)

Miles is not a drop back passer. He is slow in his progression of reads, he scrambles rather than steps up and delivers the ball, he flutters the ball out there in a girly fashion. He can't go deep.

I think the coaches need to back off with the three inch playbook, simplify the playbook for him and make him an option style QB on passing downs. Let him decide to run or pass and then tell him to do so as is warranted in that moment.

It appears from ESPN's game recap that Bonnell started:
Both Washington quarterbacks were banged up. Bonnell left late in the first quarter with a right thigh bruise, but returned in the third quarter after DuRocher was knocked out with a concussion. DuRocher was 1-for-9 with two interceptions and Bonnell was 10-of-35 for 118 yards and an interception.

Thank you. I remember DuRocher getting knocked out so I thought he had started.

But Miley Cyrus is the worst quarterback since Paus.

Miley suffering from CTE yet? His lack of progress is very disturbing.
