Give Michigan their Roses

I think we will have trouble running the ball but I don’t think we’ll really need to
-
Michigan is on a mission
All they do is win
Great defense even in a suspect offensive conference
Love to run the ball and know how to
Toughest game yet for our Dawgs -
The only matchup that matters is Michigan's d-line vs our O-line in pass protection. If Penix has time he will pick them apart and we win.

Only hope for Michigan is controlling the clock with their own running game which they will actually try to do.
They’re not going to go Sarktarded and try to outshoot you. -

Harbaugh loves to run

It's hard to judge how great they really are from their playoff game. Alabama was kind of a mess (so were they at times) and still had them in the 4th quarter.
Really hoping that like Texas, their defense is overrated. As PGOS stated, if they haven't played better than a top 40 offense then you can't really say that their defense is better than what UW just carved up.
What they did to Penn St worries me. UW will try to force McCarthy to beat them and I hope like everyone else this year, including Oregon/Utah/Texas, they will get spooked and think they have to throw it to keep up with the scoring.
The weather forecast has worried as well, but hopefully it isn't a cold rain + a shit ton of wind like in PNW. -
Worried about our uniform combo, tackling, and run game. In that order.
-
Harbaugh has no problem running the ball 40 times in a row if it's working. Michigan is going to limit UW possessions and based on the way Texas was running, it can work.
-
I’m the most worried about Michigan’s O-line vs our D-line.
On the other side of the ball, you come out just fucking slinging it. 2019 LSU offensive game plan. -

I watched both games. From a small sample mich has better athletes on the DL where TX had a couple of space eaters. Might be easier to run between the tackles against mich… pass pro really more important though as I think a one dimensional offense can win this one against a shitty um offense.BleachedAnusDawg said:The only matchup that matters is Michigan's d-line vs our O-line in pass protection. Michigan pass rush, that is all. If we can manage Texas’s DTs, we can do the same with Michigan. Score 30, win the game. They will not put up more than 30 when their emphasis is on the running game.Canadawg said:Thoughts on what concerns you or what interesting matchups you see in the game. Watched them play in Nebraska this year. I didn't learn shit because the Huskers suck and the game put me to sleep. With that said, seems like a typical Harbaugh team. Run the ball all day if it's working. Dawgs need to sell out to stop that shit. Just look at Michigan's schedule and the offenses they've played... it is not impressive. You can say OSU is talented, but every game of theirs I have watched made me want to gouge my eyes out watching them on offense. Michigan has not played anyone close to UW's offense.

Michigan appears to have one high level DB. Probably should shadow Odunze so Penix only has 2 NFL WRs left to pass to

my concern is washington not being able to stop the run and not facing sark who you can count on not to lean on it enough
-
If I was Michigan I would be scared. There is just no preparation for how different the UW offense is to everything else they have seen.
I've been watching the Bama, tOSU, Maryland, and Penn St. games. Those are the best teams they've played.
When the QB's are competent the game is close. But you will literally not see a single deep shot thrown by an elite QB to an elite WR against them. There are none on tape. Zero
The closest thing is the tOSU nobody QB throwing to MHJ. That game was down to the wire.
Michigan will have to play almost perfectly on offense to win IMO.
That being said, they are pretty good on that side. McCarthy can run, is accurate, and they will pound the rock. Corum is a Gaskin, Bucky Irvin type who is very efficient.
However, this is a game where Bruener and Eddie will have a lot more shots to make plays than against Texas.
-
This is a legit fear. Michigan will play like Oregon St. has played against UW recently, and they have a better QB. Keep UW's offense on the sidelines and put pressure on them to score every time in a limited possession game.phineas said:my concern is washington not being able to stop the run and not facing sark who you can count on not to lean on it enough
I just don't think a non-conference opponent with 1 week of prep can keep UW out of the endzone.
Michigan has almost always played from ahead and controlled the tempo. If they get down two scores in a very high pressure situation, I don't think they're built for that.
Sell out to stop the run and if they score quickly against us a few times, that's fine. It just gets Penix back on the field faster.
UW likes that kind of party. -

If UW scores in the first half it negates that -
Keep reading and hearing that Michigan was "built to stop Ohio State and its receivers." They managed to give up 9.1 yards per attempt to Kyle McCord at home in 30 degree weather. Had one of his best games of the year.
Last time they played a true spread 'em out team, TCU put 50 on them.
I don't see it with Michigan. I think Michigan is a lot like Washington in that no one has watched them play. This team ran for 1.9 yards per rush and threw for 4.9 yards per attempt in a dome in its conference title game. It needed Bama to piss down its leg to advance. Bama literally couldn't snap the ball for half the game.
It got outgained at home by an Ohio State team that wasn't its normal juggernaut self. McCarthy has regularly thrown for 140 yards. Penn State repeatedly stepped on its own dick in a game that remained competitive to the end.
Michigan is fine but people have slotted them as the Alabama/Georgia of this year because people need a team to occupy that role. In reality, Georgia was the Georgia of this year. Everybody got a little lucky they played a bad half against Alabama. Michigan is not Georgia.
I keep hearing about the relentless pass rush but they sacked Kyle McCord one time in that game. If they're so fucking dominant, why weren't they dominant against a bunch of teams that looked like total shit any time they went out of conference. Ohio State sucked shit against a Notre Dame team that ended up being pretty average the one real time they went out of conference then embarrassed themselves against Missouri.
Penn State did nothing and lost to a mediocre Ole Miss team.
Tennessee looked better against Iowa than Michigan did. Bowls don't tell as big a story as they once did, but none of these teams were worth a shit. -
Michigan has a very big, mauling, physical OL, Corem will get yards and they will mix up short passes and QB keepers off the edge(ZTF) side. This will be scary....however, Tuli is a monster inside, and Trice is playing the run really well right now, Bruener and Eddie are attackers, so run blitz galore, creep Dom close to LOS and make them go 1 on 1 with our corners, Muhamed will hold up, they won't scorch us deep. We need to be ready for TE Stanford edition, this scares me somewhat.. Michigan's offense isn't as explosive as Texas or Oregon's, so we should be fine.
On offense, keep within the game plan, RTDB!, even with our 1 legged DJ, setup the pass. So help me God/Alla/St Nick if Grubb comes out slinging 30yrd fades and quick 3 and outs, we are doomed, which I don't think he will. They can't stop our offense when we are dink and dunking then an occassion bombs away. Let the screen game rip. McMillihan, Polk, Rome, and Westy/Culp are lethal. Look for more designed runs for Penix.
Special teams, wouldn't be surprised if we do some trickery at some point.
This gayme will be an ALL IN, guns blazing, take no prisoners affair. -
