Because I used to be a part of that inner circle and I know how it works.Tequilla said:I'm assuming here we are talking about Fetters' article? Not sure why so many references to Kim.
In my view, regardless of whether someone is giving storyline items, agendas, etc., Fetters put his name to those words ... which there's nothing he can in the future run from.
All KJV has in that situation is plausible deniability ...
However, it's been very clear for a while that there's a huge agenda between KJV, Fetters, and Eklund to look at what Petersen is doing with a far more critical eye than anything they ever called out Sarkisian for. In fact, I'd argue that Fetters is the closest to reasonable of the three at the moment - which is a tad scary.
Regarding the article, it's another hatchet job confusing OpEd versus commentary versus whatever else Fetters wants to call it. It's undoubtedly polarizing and is designed as such. There's no other way to read it. Every time that there's a reasonable point made it is offset by a concluding statement that isn't based on reasonable conclusions. -

Eh, Manziel is a generational athlete. Not sure I'd compare anyone to him.
-
Certainly not saying he'll be anywhere that good, but his build and style are reminiscent. Applewhite wasn't nearly the athlete Martell is. Most likely a much better college QB though. I'd be thrilled if Martell is as good as Major.WilburHooksHands said:Eh, Manziel is a generational athlete. Not sure I'd compare anyone to him.

I haven't seen Martell throw, but he's probably already got a better arm than Major. Major was "Texas Tui," program legend and just had all the intangibles. Chris Massey still has nightmares.
edit: Major was also definitely an "OKG" -
Well genius, our current QB situation , parden my french, is fucked.
Weve got an army all-american who throws like a 7th grade girl
Weve got a combine speciman with a great arm, wheels, and smarts with little or no passing accumen or feel. apparently Troy Williams and KJ arent good enough, says Pete to unseat, the first two guys.
To compete with the big boys, UW needs more Shaqs, Sankey's, and Sheltons. Since those guys and Mpete, a probable first rounder, are gone next year who do they get replaced with?. 4 star OKG's, I count Budda as an above avergage OKG, are great mixed with a smattering of elite All Confrence / All American mention difference makers.
How many of those guys are on this roster now? especially on the offensive side of the ball? If your answer is John Ross, remember somebody needs to get him the ball and he is maybe 5'10 if he doesnt cut his hair.
I think it was Damone who said Washington and Coleman are 2/3 string material. Coleman is a poor mans Logan White but I sure as heck dont see no Reggie Bush on this squad unless Hoss or Yale can prove me wrong.EsophagealFeces said:

None of this has shit to do with Tate Martell. He's a fucking sophomore in high school.Baseman said:Well genius, our current QB situation , parden my french, is fucked.

Accidentally refer to Major Applewhite as Marshall Applewhite in a conversation (as I did) and then pop off.

Mariota isn't leading that A&M team to those wins. Not sure how he would respond to playing from 2-3 scores down almost every game.sarktastic said:

I love Manziel, but Mariota is also really good. I think Mariota also could have went 9-4 last year at A&M. Johnny was a very good player, but Mariota and Winston are as good of college QB's as he was.WilburHooksHands said:

Manziel lost 4 games a year. He's a system QB like Oregon QBs (hi obk!), Look at Sumlin and he always has a big time numbers QB. Has another one this year -
Don't believe the hype. Manziel was very good but without Mike Evans I'm not sure he wins half those games. Mariota's never had a guy he can just heave some crap up for and know he's coming down with it like Evans did for Manziel. If I knew he'd stay healthy I'd take Mariota over Manziel if I had to win one game.WilburHooksHands said:

Also, take a peak at the OL Manziel played behind... Some really good players in front of him.dnc said:

The media would like us to believe it was Johnny putting the team on his back, but the rest of the offense was loaded. Great OL, great WR's, and Sumlin always has a terrific system for a QB. Case Keenum broke records in it at Houston. Kenny Hill would get an invite to New York right now too.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:

You are correct about all those things. The one thing I would add though is that Sumlins' QB systems do not account for the 1400 rushing yards in his Heisman season. You could definitely say that those are a byproduct of the strain it puts on the defense and a great O-line, but I would say the O-line would be more responsible for the passing numbers and allowing him great time to find guys like Evans. Many of those rushing yards were scrambles that turned into 50-60 yard TD's on sheer athletic ability.RoadDawg55 said:The media would like us to believe it was Johnny putting the team on his back, but the rest of the offense was loaded. I am an unabashed Manziel homer and I won't try to pretend otherwise. I'm pretty sure you guys can tell that by now, but I can say with full honestly I've never seen anybody want to shove it up the other team's ass more than Manziel, ever.

Three first rounders on offense and Sumlin still lost four games last year.RoadDawg55 said:
