Thoughts on the weffs.

I guess my thought is that it's really weird to not have any reason to hate the officials.

I saw them miss a false start on Texas. I saw them miss a holding on UW and on Texas. Outside of that I thought it was well called.
-
Yeah they'll never be perfect. They flagged Michigan for a couple of perimeter holds that were critical and were exactly the type of calls that PAC 12 refs ignore most of the time.PineapplePirate said:I saw them miss a false start on Texas. Well, naturally. He doesn't have a single call to point to though.GrundleStiltzkin said: -

First tenant of winners win… never talk about the refs after the game

We? all like the weffs when we win.

what jumped out at me last night was Texas had a lot of really good players but they were really undisciplined.
no idea why though. -

Not really. UW has won 21 straight and this is the first time during the streak where I didn't hate them.creepycoug said:We? all like the weffs when we win.

From my coworker
I dont want to take away from what Washington accomplished.. but go look up the penalty situation so many missed holdings and that CLEAR block in the back I guess the NCAA likes Washington after all. Double the amount of penalties and the most penalties on any game Texas has played this year ( per the announcers ) so thats lame. If you are better be better and win I hate the penalties being a huge part of the game. GG tho I do think Michigan wins their defense is really good -
Uninvite him from the block party.Postal91 said:From my coworker

Edit: I swear you said neighbor. Oh well. Uninvite his ass anyways. -
This coworker is likely the same one who thinks it's OK to heat up some bass and broccoli in the break room microwave.Postal91 said:From my coworker

The Fabulous Sports Babe who was on KJR in the 90s during the heyday of AM sports talk radio always said "score more points"
She would brook no nonsense about complaining about officials or calls -
Those who can block. Those who cannot hold.
That is why Texas was holding non-stop and was penalized so much more. -
Texas was holding on nearly every play in the 4th, but they were just done calling it at that point.
I think there were only two calls for which Texas had a legitimate beef: That was totally a blown block in the back call. Not only directly in the back, but after the play was dead. Also, Penix was totally over the line of scrimmage on that first down throw to the sideline.
On the flip side, the big bomb over Mohammad that caused all the late drama was after a bad push-off, but I didn't want it called because it's never called and would therefore look like shit officiating if it finally were in that moment. Lots of missed holds on Texas' line, as previously stated.
On the balance, decently officiated. -
I know winners win, but apart from nearly having a nervous breakdown, this is what has kept me from enjoying last night, really this whole season, as much as I should have. Washington was clearly the better team, could have easily won by 17. The narrative is “UW survives”. Just lucky breaks and this all has to come to an end soon. Texas is not as good at football as Washington.Postal91 said:From my coworker

I have a good military buddy who is a UT grad and in the 99th percentile of the Longhorn fan intelligence curve (admittedly a low bar, but still), he was in disbelief at how retarded sark was last night and how poorly prepared they were to start the game. I have been telling him this day would be coming for the last several years, inevitable with sark. None of their fans can fully accept what he is yet, it’s fascinating psychology. maybe they took that Kim Grinolds love letter to heart.rodmansrage said:what jumped out at me last night was Texas had a lot of really good players but they were really undisciplined.

One thing I’ve noticed about UW defense is that they typically start games fast which helps when the offense does the same.OreDawg said:

not sure if your friend heard but sark 'had the first 40 plays scripted,' sure sounds like sark was 'prepared.'OreDawg said:
