They fired the OC, yet Hoke is still the HC.
I can't believe the fans/media always fall into the same trap thinking firing assistants means change. Yet you still have the same shitty HC running your program.
Change would be firing hoke

yep, it's what happened at UW and it will happen again at USC. The question is will the USC media buy it? Not all of them liked the hire in the first place

They need to fire Hoke. It's not happening with him. Throw $6-8 million at Harbaugh to come back home.

    26-13, 15-9 after three years.

He needs another 10+ win season this year or he should be door.ass.out.

Not sure Harbaugh has any interesting in going there though. I like the idea of throwing a truckload of cash at him.

IIRC Harbaugh wanted the job when they hired Rich Rodriguez. Could be a Mora situation.

You mean where Harbaugh would use it a leverage to get a truckload of cash and extention from the niners (ILICTT)?

I think Michigan knows Harbaugh would implode so this won't happen.

It takes 4-5 years to build a team. As cliché as that sounds it's reality. Nothing has changed in college football. Auburn got lucky twice-Not reality . Michigan can keep hiring and firing coordinators and head coaches and will never get anywhere. They fired Borges? Not Al's fault, Michigan just stunk on offense because their players stunk and the defense didn't help them. Al Borges is a proven commodity. NUSS wouldn't have helped UM one ounce last year.

Jim Tressel national championship in year 2.

Bob Stoops national championship in year 2.

Urban Meyer national championship in year 2.

Gene Chizik national championship in year 2.

Nick Saban national championship in year 3.

    Welcome to reality.

    Gilby fired after year 2.

Ty and Sark should have been fired after year 3.

    Case closed.

I think Harbaugh would seriously consider it if they threw a shit ton of $$$ his way. His act is wearing thin in San Fran(ILTCIT, IWILTD) and if he doesn't win a Super Bowel this year, he might be DAO and looking for a new job anyway.

Pete Carroll won in year three. Saban at LSU was also year four. Jimbo Fisher won in year four.

Basically every national title head coach since 2000 has won a natty within his first four years. The only exception is Mack Brown and if Texas had a better head coach they probably would have been a dynasty.

Look at the Huskies recent history. Don James established himself by year three, Rick Neuheisel had peaked by year two, Lambo proved to be a bum year one, Jim Owens made his mark year four, Ty/Sark should have been gone after year three.

PLSSFS point about 4-5 years is fucktarded and backwards.

Forgot the special rule that if you take over from 0-12 you need 8 years.

It may take 4-5 years to build a team but great coaches can and will do it quicker (numerous examples noted here) and more importantly, you don't get year 5 when you go off track before that. Its similar in the business world and investing. You cut your fucking losses when the plan goes off track and certain targets, checkpoints, etc aren't hit. Or you make small changes and adapt. Tyrone was a perfect example after 2007. Sark could have been fired in 2011 but instead the AD chose to upgrade the entire D staff and throw a blank check at the top recruiter on the west coast. Why? Because the original plan was going off course and headed for a losing season in 2012, year 4.

Hoke's SRS so far is 8-21-41. That is a steep drop in two seasons. He has veered way off course and needs a top 20/25 season (probably Svens 10 wins) to keep his job. If he can't do that, Michigan should cut its losses.

Hoke won 11 games in year one and has declined each year since then. He sucks, and didn't have the resume to get the Michigan job in the first place. If he wasn't an assistant coach and "Michigan Man," he never would have sniffed the job. It was basically like UW giving the job to Lambright. I'd be pissed if Brady Hoke was UW's coach. His records at Ball State were 4-8, 2-9, 4-7, 5-7, 7-6, 12-1. At SDSU he went 4-8 and 9-4. In the 9-4 year, he was T-3rd in the MWC. A 47-50 career record before Michigan. It was as bad as USC hiring Sark.

According to Forbes, Michigan is the 5th most valuable team. When looking at profit, they are #2 only behind Texas. Money is no issue, and they are only paying Brady Hoke 2 million. He's never going to be able to beat Urban Meyer. Michigan State with Dantonio has gone 6-2 against Michigan. Franklin at Penn State will probably be pretty good too.

    http://www.forbes.com/pictures/emdm45efmkf/5-michigan-wolverines/

Hoke has recruited very well. It's the only thing he has done. In scout rankings, he was 4th in 2012, 2nd in 2013, and 27th in 2014 (3.56 star rating was top 10). Pony up for a real coach and they could be good very quickly. Michigan has been like Texas in that their reputation is greater than their production on the field. If you want to beat Urban Meyer and Dantonio, you need a great coach. Pay Harbaugh, Gruden, Tomlin as much as it takes. Whoever they get will be better than Hoke. They are probably all long shots except for possibly Harbaugh.

Michigan even has a reviled football-hating past president. Their situation is remarkably like Washington's in the 90s or early 2000's, just with a different chronology.

How does a 15-9 big 10 record translate to other leagues? Is that like a 12-12 PAC 12 record

At best. Did Michigan fire Hoke yet?
