Would you be happy with a 13-1 record with a NY6 win?

Regardless of circumstances, ending the season with a win always feels good on some level.

Win or die

No. What part of BONEM do you not understand? A loss on Friday is failure.
If this was a matchup against any other P12 team, except maybe the coogs, then sure NY6 and 13-1 is phenomenal. But its not.
This is the final game in Pac-12 history. Playoff on the line. Heisman on the line. A chance to shut up all the Duck suckers that expect UW to get blown out. This is the first time in Pac-conference history that we've had a game like this, on par nationally, with an OSU/Michigan or an Alabama/Georgia and somehow we find ourselves on the wrong side of a double-digit point spread against the program that should be our little brother despite beating them last month and being undefeated?
This is THE GAME that people will remember the Pac-12 by and define the two programs as we step into the next phase of college football. We can be the fucking champs, or we can be the punchline. There is no inbetween. There is no consolation prize.
Win or suck. -
losing to the _ucks is never acceptable
I hated losing in 1987 and 1988 as a kid. Loser program then, loser program now. -
Honestly?
No.
I know I’m being unreasonable and extremely Doog-ish, but it would give the whole season a “it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all” quality about it.
Losing to the Ducks at this point will be like an entire Duckade of Dominance ® of shoved into one game. They’ll be insufferable.
And at that point any bowl game will feel like a consolation prize.
I know, I’m a bad fan. -
If we lose on Friday and don’t make the playoffs
It’s gonna be a mass exodus of who will not play in the bowl game -
Yeah NY6 has turned into the NIT of college football. NOC.
-
Washington has not won a NY6 game in 2 decades. In the medium term it would still be a big accomplishment

the playoff has killed off the allure of winning any other bowl game.

I want it all. Life is too short for an NY6. -

If UW loses to Oregon they will lose their next game. I think once the spell is broken, it's broken.
-
If they play like shit and lose to oregon I won't feel good about it. They just have not played well. Winning ugly is way better than any loss, but the lack of improvement or regaining their stride on the offensive side of the ball is not encouraging for the state of the program.
-
I'm never happy.

Watching penix courageously struggle through injury after throwing amazing dimes not just the first 6 games this year but last year as well has colored the experience and left all of us with an unsettled feeling… need to see this team lift up again, have the feeling that the one month break between games could provide that if we can somehow get to the playoffs…
NY6 especially against the playin non major 6th team would feel empty, but playing against Ohio State or Alabama / Georgia and showing up and playing well would be a program boost
The problem is that the bowl matchup would probably be OSU vs Alabama and we would wind up with Texas again, or worse… no Bueno -

Based on this criteria the 2000 Dawgs of War were a disappointment.
I’ve gone back and forth on this scenario personally. I love the 2000 Dawgs and in the playoff era I’m not sure where I stand between making the tournament and losing or being at the top of the list on the outside but winning. -
This all changes if Oregon wins the NC. It just does.CuntWaffle said:I know if we lose Friday I won’t be. Then if we beat someone like Bama in a big bowl I would be ok.

If we have to play Tulame or Jerry Falwell U I'll watch, but I won't care.TheRoarOfTheCrowd said:Watching penix courageously struggle through injury after throwing amazing dimes not just the first 6 games this year but last year as well has colored the experience and left all of us with an unsettled feeling… need to see this team lift up again, have the feeling that the one month break between games could provide that if we can somehow get to the playoffs…

People forget we were 4-8 two years ago and our current coach is 22-2
This fanbase is interesting -

Like I said in another post, 12-0 should equal conference champs playing Michigan for the Natty in the Granddaddy of Them All. Instead we’ve had 25 years worth of improvements to college football. -

A lot of Oregon fans will remind you that 12-0 was good enough for Oregon in 2010 but now in 2023 it's just an indication that UW was a fraud and they need to win more to justify it.YellowSnow said:

Without winning the conference, 12-0 regular season is a pleasant footnote. I don’t like that either but that’s how it works.
-
I wont be pissed if the team wins an NY6. That is a huge momentum booster for the program and still means something.
12-2 would feel hollow.
