I starting saving gifs a while back. Probably 100-110 on my phone and lord knows how many on my Mac. Quite a few are generic, not UW specific though.

Think i've got a scraper working. So far have downloaded about 220/567 gifs from the Important Gif thread.

The issue with the ones on gifs.com that don’t load, if you look at the error, it says something about a delinquent account. Whoever ran that site probably walked away and the hosting is slowly going tits. Now, I’m still going through their Terms and Conditions, but I did see this note:

So I don’t know if you want keep using a script.

I did get better results when putting a user agent into the curl request, but it’s not that a root. This what tipped me that the couch was priced last week when trying to DL my beloved Whittingham “sex?” JifDoog_de_Jour said:

Yeah, I saw that error message. Crunchbase, Googling, etc. doesn’t bring up much for gifs.com or their parent, Glyphic, Inc. other then their last round of investment was in 2020. CEO/Founder doesn’t list the company prominently in his LinkedIn.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Had a thought. Since it appears the owner of the site is a layabout shitpile who just walks away from his jerb, it is likely we count them as a valued poster here at HH, so let's wait until they wake up at noon today and see if they will see this thread and rescue us all from this fresh hell.
