How long can we keep DeBoer?

The NFL is crazy but hiring Lincoln Riley would be a bigger disaster that Kingsbury. As of now the only teams that look like possibilities are the Bears, Patriots, Commanders (New owner) and maybe the Rams if they end up tanking. I think if the Chargers collapse then they would go get Harbaugh to coach Herbert.

Agreed. These guys are obviously good coaches but the short yardage run game has been an issue since day one that hasn’t gotten any better. Been talked about a lot on here and it’s a real issue that they haven’t been able to fix. It doesn’t seem to be anything other than a technique/toughness/want to thing at this point, we’re talking about 1-2 fucking yards.Canadawg said:

Yeah, defense could be better and there are a bunch of nobody coaches on that side.Canadawg said:
We gotta use way more energy complaining about the defensive staff. Grubb is a good OC and probably helping with the Oline quite a bit. Meanwhile Inoke Breckerfield is the only coach that's group hasnt gotten better over the past 2 seasons. Inge as well with the LBs and coordinating the front is troubling.Kingdome_Urinals said:

But his offense has scored 31 and 36 in its last two games. That's bullshit.
The talent is there, they should be in the 40s, no excuses.
He needs to realize that against better teams with a two possession lead, he needs to grind them down by taking what they give him, demoralizing them, and killing their will to live.
If UW goes up by 19 that game is fucking over. Grind out the clock and rest the defense. Even if you only get a field goal off an 8 minute drive, its a massive win.
Enough of the 45 second 3 and out bullshit with the lead. We have seen it against Texas and Oregon. Zona he was actually doing what Im asking for, but the Germie fumble led to a 14 point swing.
They won the games which is great, but it is really annoying for me to watch the quick possessions and punts. Especially when the run game was decent. -
9 million a year for Mark Stoops at fucking Kentucky for 6 wins a year. If that's not insanity, tell me what is.

Deboers daughter just signed with Washington for softball.
I would imagine that he would stick around for at least a few more years to enjoy the experience of going to work with his daughter.
Hopefully gives Washington time to gather up more funds. -
Not the defensive staff. All those fuckers can go. They ain't doing shit. Defense is garbage. Saturday was a gift from the football gods. If Lanning was not a re-tárd game was a Loss.DoogieMcDoogerson said:"We" gotta keep his staff as well. Budget is going to have to go WAY up to keep Grubb and gang.

This is just a hunch. But DeBoer played a big role in selecting and hiring Dannen. DeBoer strikes me as someone who recognizes the value of a good situation with good people and and wouldn't be overcome with ambition to lead Michigan or Alabama necessarily. As Don James said, when he asked around the country about the UW job, people said UW was one of about 15 jobs in the nation where you could achieve all your ambitions as a coach, including a natty. it still applies today as long as UW doesn't trip on its own dick.

Grubb CAN go—anywhere he wants. He turned down Saban and Aggie after one year at Washington. The OC hate on here is so funny. I remember when J Smitty was public enemy #1 on here for like three years. Then it was “Chris Peterson’s offense” in the crosshairs. I wonder what the reaction would be if UW had the best offense in the country? Oh wait, we? do and the reaction is “Grubb can go” lol.Kingdome_Urinals said:

I encourage you to develop some perspective. Grubb is a throat slitter. That’s our? identity. Easy to look back and say AT THIS EXACT POINT IN THE GAME WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CONSERVATIVE AND RUN THE BALL (taking it out of the hands of a generational QB). UW will be lucky to keep Grubb for 2-3 more seasons. I look forward to the HH hate heaped on his successor.

They’d already game planned to give Dillon a lot of carries, there would be no change of approach necessary.HonestDon said:

There’s also screen passes and rollouts, high percentage passes to get yards and keep the clock rolling.
If UW loses that game Grubb is getting put through the ringer on a national level. -

Gotta have a gargantuan dick to trip on it though and that’s pretty cool. I’m a glass half full type of fan.FireCohen said:
