Who misses Cortez Kennedy?
Was watching some New Heights podcast with Chris Jones today and they were discussing the Mt Rushmore of D tackles ... and Tez wasn't mentioned. Okay, Reggie White, Aaron Donald etc ... but they mentioned Warren Sapp too. While I appreciate Sapp I think Tez was as good or better than Sapp. Biased, yeah, but still.

Sapp - same, but bad dude. And I don't say that about the hit on the Packers O lineman. Fucking O lineman big boy. Protect yourself until the whistle is blown. But there's a ton of other shit that makes Sapp a giant butt hole. Nobody liked him, and I believe that's still the case. @dnc - level bully.
One of my favorite Tez plays that is never shown: Rookie year I believe, at Soldier Field, Neil Anderson, who was a big and strong tailback, comes flying through a gaping hole, Tez is being stood up and probably held by two O linemen, at the point where Andersen is reaching speed, Tez puts out his mit and grabs him by the jersey and plants his face in the ground. All, 100%, arm. Just his fucking arm while this 200 and whatever pound back is flying through a hole unabated, and he grabs like a toddler and just throws him into the ground.
I remember thinking, fuck, that dude is strong. That he could chase QBs was ridiculous. Great player here, and very well liked with a great self deprecating sense of humor. That he wasn't first ballot is prima facie evidence of how fucked up the NFL is about D tackles, which is stupid because they are what make a defense. -
He was one of my favorite players growing up. Pretty sure I had his jersey.

I miss enjoying the NFL. I’ve got time to watch the afternoon game today, expecting it to be Pats and Cowboys. Instead, it’s the 49ers against the worst team in the league. PAC12 network is ruining UW football and TV contracts picking the worst games is ruining what little enjoyment I have from the NFL.
On topic, yes, I miss Kennedy and the horrible blue tint my atenna tv would give off of the Seahawks uniforms. Sometimes Kennedy would disappear into a fuzz of black and white and I’d have to smack my TV until he showed back up. -
Bob Bratkowski was the OC and his son Shane was on my soccer team. Had a chance to attend a few games and sit amongst the players wives but didn’t realize at the time how much it smelt like money around there, real house wives of whatever type shit. Looking back now my friends house was fucking huge and they were pretty well off though as a kid you don’t really realize that much.
One of the trips to head quarters was after the season. Tez was there because he needed some gear for the pro bowl. Pretty sure him and Eugene “prostitutes before super bowls” Robinson both went to Hawaii that year. Anyways, ran into Tez in the hall and I just about shit myself as I may have been 9 or 10. Dude was huge but nice as can be.

Tez was better than Sapp, better against the run. Sapp needed Booger McFarland while Tez could do it all.
