Fairly confident this week

Not sure the script calls for a win this week.

Sark ran the ball down Stanford's throat, the same Sark team that was stonewalled by BC. That is also a Sark offense I'm talking about. It will be a low scoring game but to say we can't run on Stanford is flat out wrong.puppylove_sugarsteel said:We wont run on Stanford, Miles cant beat them with his arm... we are going to get spanked. Cajuste, Montgomery and Rector running free all day? Goodluck. If we win special team battle, be +2 in turnovers and Shaq gets a ton of carries, we have a chance. Stanford leading nation in defense doesnt help either

Agree about Stanford's WR's. Montgomery, Cajuste, Rector, and Hopper (TE) are going to be a tough match up. Hogan's better than some think too. I think it will be a close game. We will likely need the defense and special teams to win this one.puppylove_sugarsteel said:We wont run on Stanford, Miles cant beat them with his arm... we are going to get spanked. Peters can match up with Montgomery and Jones has better size than Ducre did to match up with Cajuste but Cajuste is a RS-JR and Jones is just a frosh. Can Baker match-up with the speedy Rector? I don't really trust Dixon when playing more than a few snaps.
Miles had a good throw over the middle in the 2nd half when Charles, Tanigawa, and Atoe didn't let guys collapse the middle and / or let blitzing LBs get in his face. Miles didn't look all that great throwing on the run though but having a guy back like John Ross would make a lot of QBs look better.
Ben Riva coming back would be ideal because, while Shelton was decent in subbing, he is still young after a RS year (IIRC, he was only 17 when he enrolled) and Riva is more of a force in the running game.
I'd also like to see Darrell Daniels get more looks in the passing game. He could be a match-up problem for 'Furd's LBs. Even though they have the #1 D, Stanford's front 7 doesn't appear to be as imposing as years past...they are lighter on the DL and they used to have taller LBs like Trent Murphy (6'5" and Chase Thomas (6'4"). Even Shayne Skov was listed at 6'3". -
Stanford leading the nation in D is misleading. They've played cupcakes (USC included). I'm not saying they have a bad defense. Don't be a twister.puppylove_sugarsteel said:We wont run on Stanford, Miles cant beat them with his arm... we are going to get spanked. Cajuste, Montgomery and Rector running free all day? Goodluck.
