Write-InBrock Huard interception against Notre Dame late in the game in 1995. We’ve NEVER beaten Notre Dame despite at least twice being the better team.
I was at a Catholic wedding that day that had a 3 hour delay for the reception so people could watch the game. We had it on the last drive. Masterful. Marched down the field with a sense of destiny.
Until Lambo spun up a cross field out route and Brock threw an easily picked duck. Might have been same play as the Kenny Wheaton interception from 1994. When the running game was ridiculously effective.
Was a realization, despite the 91 season, we weren’t truly part of the elite. No. We were still disdained by old money. A dalliance before the dance. Fine for the front of the club, but never in the secret cigar bunker by the wine cellar for high stakes poker. If our son started dating their daughter, we might find our portfolio shrinking at work and a “kind word” from the trusted groundskeeper to let us know our heathenry peasant stock, while vibrant, was wholly unsuitable for fecund purposes.
Yeah. That was it. -

I like the obligatory DMo "yet another reason why" he should never sniff being the starter next year.
