On the main P12N channel they were playing Beavlet vs Stanford men's soccer.

One theory I had was that people in the rust belt are bored and watch the hell out of whatever sport they can find on TV as long as there's a regional connection. -

Sports media gets worse every year, and that's saying a lot considering that it's historically a haven for the dumbfucks who pursued journalism in school but aren't smart enough to understand and report on actual current events. ESPN continues to purge actual sports reporters and their remaining talent is completely indistinguishable from the guys at Barstool who only exist to blabber about tits and gambling (and they do great work, no judgment here).
The culmination of all of this is the all-sizzle-no-steak media circus of everything Deion. Even a satirist looking to parody the declining value of sports media would think it's too on-the-nose to script in Deion, The Rock, and all the other BET awards nominees in the most contrived, hype-laden showdown of two mediocre teams the world has ever witnessed. -
