I'm disappointed the "MSU phoning one in" comment was a woosh, but I'll get over it eventually.
As for the Jonathan Smith talk, he did take over a 1-win program and has built it into a really tough out -- if not a contender. Not saying he's the next DeBoner (don't twist), but building a winner at Beav isn't too shabby.
