Hoped there would be more for an ABC game in that time slot with weak competition with Rice/Texas and Tennessee/Virginia being the other options and an opponent with some name recognition. Wonder how many of those Beav games are from sports bars playing the only football which was on at that time.
Crowd was decent and agree a lot, especially on the sunny side left at halftime.
The numbers for Houston/UTSA show how little a college football program which happens to be in a big market doesn't matter for ratings and shows the case against adding San Diego State/SMU just because of that.
Not to dispute the outrage, angst, mockery, etc., but Disney pulled ABC/ESPN off Spectrum/Charter (15M subscribers) last week in a rates dispute. So any game in the ESPN family theoretically was unavailable to those folks
Interesting to note Notre Dame-Tennessee State did 1.56M - or about 20% less than UW.
Yeah, that was a non-competitive game (56-3) against a bad FCS program, but UW-Boise wasn't exactly a nailbiter

Without the retransmission fees it get really tough to operate. Shocked they didn’t figure it out prior to Sat
Another one of these going on with DIRECTV and Nexstar. This one’s been going on since July though not 15M subs.

That probably had a slight impact.
And pushed casual viewers over to other games, boosting their numbers

People do know ABC is free right and available to 100% of the country?

Judging by the outrage on the internets I'd say no, no they don't

Yikes
Oregon St was the only game on at that time whereas UW was up against Ohio St, Texas and ND.
The coog is right but still a coog for being first
Still #1 in tickets sold and the stadium looked pretty good in the 2nd quarter. A decent amount of people around me left at halftime.
