It's sad to see how far Danny has fallen.

"Nobody objected to Tyrone Willingham becoming head coach."

When he was hired at Stanford? Because when he was hired at Norte Dame and especially Washington, there was a ton of objection to the hire because Willingham had by then proven to be incapable of being a major college football head coach. He underperformed at Stanford and then was fired by a school famous for not firing people.

Danny must have been living in a cave at the time because the hiring of that fraud instantly escalated the Husky fan civil war (Posis vs. Negas).

I also remember the daily “Ty the Fraud Fact of the Day” on Groz and Gas. That started as soon as that program killing fraud was hired at Washington, months before he lost his first of many games. Many Huskies fans remember how awful he was at Stanford with that loaded roster given to him from Bill Walsh, and were very vocally displeased at the horrible hire.

Wasn’t Danny a sports reporter back then?

Yes because as Gas called him Skip “Chump” Bayless said Ty couldn’t win games in November. That is the comment that started that but if I remember right

From what I remember the majority of people weren't as against it was they probably should have been or they remember being. Anyone who wasn't a big doog was super skeptical though. He was super average at Stanford and the year he won the conference he went 8-4 in what was considered the worst year of the conference maybe ever at the time, lost to UW, and only won because of UW's traditional choking against UCLA. Sucked at Notre Dame back when it was way easier to be good there.

I was in the dawg pack for hoops when he was hired. They brought him out to meet the students and people only got excited once he started handing out free pizza. No one was excited about the hire.

I will heartily admit that I wasn’t anti-Willingham until I saw the team actually play. When he was hired, I wasn’t happy but I did think he might be able to recruit.

Yeah, I became a half brain real fast.

Yeah I wasn't horribly against it. He was DOA when they lost in Seattle to Air Force though and I'm pretty sure the guy who killed them was some white receiver from eastern Washington or something.

Willingham was part of why I started playing rugby on Saturdays instead of going to football games.

Danny's wife let him just Barbieheimer with some non alcoholic beers, so he's a little ramped up.

Once she gives him his bedtime smoothie he'll settle down again.

Danny's a good guy. I miss hearing him with Jim Moore. Though I've grown to enjoy hearing Christian Caple. He's good at summarizing a situation.
