Oregon is one with the @Logistics challenges since PDX does not have the same service level let alone Eugene.
Edit: Alaska has nonstops to Omaha, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DCA and Newark.
Iowa and Penn State are the two furthest from nonstops out of SEA, with 3+ hours of ground transit required.

Flying to Wisconsin is that much more expensive than Tucson? Fuck off.FecalFeast said: -
Ask for 50k, take 45k and consider it a win. I’m positive this is how these negotiations work.

My best back of the envelope is that they're just doubling travel expenses.LawDawg1 said:

Bus trips to WSU/OSU replaced by flights.
The average charter flight doubled in length, so close to doubling the cost. -
Still time for UW to fuck it up

Now more than ever we need @Logistics to provide their insight.whlinder said:

I'm hearing it's the only rape we can afford due to travel costs.dirtysouwfdawg said:

sponsorships do not equal free or even discounted flights. Teams and universities try and get as much money as possible sponsorship wise from an airline... still budget for the travel and it is independent of the sponsorship money received.whlinder said:

The thing that gets left out of these reports is that this is only for the first couple of years. All of the other new invitees to the B1G also had to pay their dues and take a lower cut (except USC/UCLA so fuck them)... it will be a full share after a few years.FecalFeast said: -

Travel distances basically equal to the LA schools. Yes, they get a higher share, cause fuck those assholes, but we're already used to longer trips than them. They benefit by having each other in the same town, but the travel itself should not be holding us up, cause it didn't matter to UCLA. We need to have enough money to pay for that, but would be incredibly short sighted to say no. Fucking UCF is going to be in a conference with BYU and managed to look past the "travel concerns". -
Was waiting to see if I should intervene to help post a gif.TheHB said: -
40 million is 20 more than we get now. Say 8 million realistically in travel costs, 3-4 million of that should be covered by increased ticket and concession sales over a six game home slate. So that still keeps you 14 million over current revenue stream. That should just about cover your upcoming stadium bill payment. Also, if they make the semifinals this year they’ll be back in the black next year. The B1G share escalates after a couple seasons. Think farther ahead UW. Go deeper. Don’t puss out on me.

You maybe try to ask for a bit more before your leverage has dried up, which in this case will be about < 12pm tomorrow when Arizona announces they're leaving. -
