The State of Oregon holding hands on rainbow crosswalks stuff is lame. Been to plenty of Civil Wars Plat Cups and it's just lame.

There is no reason not to reciprocate the hate that Wazzu has. Sure enough beatdowns transpire and you feel like burying the hatchet, but then they always do something to make me forget that.

2015 they wouldn't stfu even after UW stomped them out. At a place that had both fanbases there because their bowl games were on at the same time, and they were just insufferable.

2018 they did the Vancouver Canucks thing of planning the victory parade too soon and the Boston Bruins came it and beat the ever living fuck out of them in Game 7.

2022 they showed themselves to be soft, and poor sports. Funniest part was that we? didn't even give a shit about some dumb flag plant. It didn't upset us in 2021 but they just couldn't stomach the thought of it leading up to that game. Losers.

No hatred the Cougs though it's easy to say with them pretty neutered in the Apple Cup for almost 15 years now, and even all their best teams in the 2000s got beat. The fans can get pretty shitty when they win. Several were trying to bait people into fights walking out of the stadium in 2021.

They've done a good amount with not much to work with starting in the 80s. I almost kind of morbidly respect their fans who would admittedly rather go 4-8 and win an Apple Cup every fews years than win 9-10 games a year but always lose the Apple Cup.

I think I only hate Notre Dame and the Yankees.

I don't like WSU though. Not at all. I don't even pull for them to beat the quooks, hoping instead for an earthquake or giant swarm of killer bees to put an end to the game.

No hate though. Hatred is wrong.

The thing that drives Cuog to utter apoplexy is when you don't match the hatred they have for UW, and laugh at them. I enjoy this. Case in point:

Was at a brewery last fall watching the end of the Cuog win over Wisconsin. A few of them were well beyond wasted and talking Rose Bowl-here-we-come shit, saying "they" just pulled off one of the biggest wins in memory for the Pac-12, etc, etc. Of course, I was wearing a UW hat and immediately became the target of their joy/disdain. I lifted my pint and said something to the effect of "that's a really good win for you guys, congratulations, blah, blah, blah." Instead of a simple, "thanks asshole," they had to start in on the Apple Cup from the previous year and how I was a Hucking Fusky, etc. I just kept laughing and saying, " great win, today, fellas," as I was outnumbered and didn't really want to get an ass-kicking anyway. (I'm not an unathletic old man, but I'm a shitty fighter. Always have been.)

Normal fans of other teams would turn back to the TVs or their buddies or the nearest 6 in a halter top. Not Cuog. They wouldn't let it go. I never said anything derogatory about Cuog the whole time, and it had them tied into knots. Finally, after about 20 minutes of this, they got up and left, calling me all kinds of names -- most of them I've been called before if I'm being honest.

Was an interesting case study. Instead of focusing on the seemingly great win, they had to turn it into a "fuck you, Husky" fest.

It's gets in their genes the minute they step foot in Pullman.

Perfect illustration of how and why my feelings escalate to hate fairly easily.

I would've lost my temper and gotten my ass kicked, guaranteed.

In 2015 i was coaxed into going to this dipshit giant sports bar type of place that had each team's bowl game on in complete opposite ends of the bar. Rather than enjoy their win over Miami and what was a top 5 season for them, they were more interested in walking by the UW bowl area and laying down such sick burns as "Cmon Huskies! Beat the SEC!".

no, but when they lose I laugh

I'd say I liked them in 1989 and 1990. Sometimes I'd listen to Robert Robertson do gaymes.

They have, but this recent run was because the guy who perfected a style of offense locked an ESPN anchor's kid in a toolshed and was seen nationally as damaged goods. WSU fit him perfectly. MSU I would argue did not.

They almost kept it going masterfully with Rolovich.
