HuskyFan Podcast: Illinois Review & More

This 52 minute podcast evolved into a vintage one with Sark bashing early and criticism of Doogman spanning the majority of the podcast. James takes great offense to Kim claiming Derek has reached a new low, the gang covers the recent "Lemon Drop" and answers a few twitter questions. Football commentary is sprinkled in, intermittently as we rip the usual suspects.

If you are sensitive to explicit language, I suggest ear muffs for this one! Anyone that is not a fan of doogman I believe you will find the listen quite enjoyable.

you will learn that there are some well timed f bombs and become less sensitive to it.

The Kim rants felt a bit contrived. Like the anger towards that asswelt but it really seemed like you put the cart before horse. Let the hate flow through you. Channel that Arizona state well of emotion. Looking forward to years of sunshine lollipops, insense and peppermint podcasts with Peet at the helm but I really enjoy the Primal Scream therapy venting of anger towards the douchesicles responsible for our current status. Keep on trucking fellas; really good content.

Good listen, as always.
Would have liked more analysis of the Illinois game, you guys got off of that pretty quick. Compare the two RBs. What's Cyler's ceiling? Is Baker improving? Is the team really getting better or is the competition getting that much worse? Things we need to clean up before the real season begins? Daniels seems to be a star in the making at TE. Run/pass ratio is 65:35, do we try to maintain that or will we need to pass more (insert redditFS poster).
The Kim stuff was mostly good but when two of you admit to being paying subscribers to that shithole -- the joke is kind of on you. Why are you still giving them money and what does having that subscription provide you that his lordship biggusdickus doesn't?
The gay porn stuff was dumb and no outside of the most raging of HH nerdvirgins will get the references. Or care. -
If you want to get blasted (and who on this board doesn't), listen to the Doogman Illinois wrap up podcast and take a shot every time Kim mentions he was on the sidelines for the game. They'll be pumping your stomach by minute 20.

To answer your questions-
RB- I think DW and LC have different strengths. I think DW has more upside but he's not a natural back like LC. Over time both will continue to improve and Petersen will figure out how to best use them. I wonder how he will use Shaq as Shaq could be the best of them right now. Will he platoon guys in pac-12 play? Even Callier looked better in the last game.
Cyler- Seems to be deceptively good. He isn't great at any one thing but his all around game is solid with few weaknesses. He needs to be better on bubble screens and be able to zip passes against zone coverage. Like the backs I think he will steadily improve.
Daniels hands are looking great. Hope they get him more involved.
Safety play needs to be cleaned up. Thats my biggest concern. Also, what can Kasen contribute? If Kasen can get back to full health then I'd feel good about the offense competing at a high level. Hopefully safety play can improve because with the way the front 7 is playing it would be a shame not to have a top 15-20 defense.

Cornell's Kim rant was great radio.
Echo the comments on Pettis. I'd add that Dissly continues to show. He had a sack missed due to a holding penalty. He blew past the tackle. Think he's a player. -
I'll be expecting my royalties check for "Stevie Two Chins" in the mail any day.

Nobody pays for doogman. Monday was the first time I had been over there since the Hawaii game. I had been as tired of the dawgman talk as anyone, but it's hard to ignore how FS Kim is. Talking about missing Bishop Sankey and Polk when we are running it better than any Sark team? And when we have good young RB's and the potential of Shaq? It's hard to believe a guy who has followed Husky Football for so long is that stupid.Gladstone said:Good listen, as always.

I agree with Chest's response, although I think corner is just as big of concern as safety, especially in the nickel and dime packages. Right now, in passing situations, Baker moves to nickel and Walker or Beaver comes in at safety. The depth at corner is paper thin and possibly having to depend on Dixon, Hale, and Gardenhire is pretty scary. I am somewhat excited about Jones though. He had a good first start and likes to hit. My early impressions are he is a hard nosed kid who won't be scared or back down. It's only been one start though so who knows if he can actually handle the job. I'm sure there will be some struggles. At safety, I hope Baker and King will improve as the season goes on. King is one of the best athletes on the team, but he needs to stop making mental errors.
I do think the sum of the parts of this team is stronger than any team Sark had. Against Stanford and UCLA we will need the defense to hold them under 21. Against ASU, Arizona, WSU, and Cal (I know, I know) we will probably need the offense to score 35+. Teams with physical front 7's will cause our offense to struggle and teams with good QB's who can throw the ball will tear our defense up. Good dual threat QB's are especially scary. Mariota and probably Kelly will tear us the fuck up. Luckily, the ASU game is at home.
I'm a big Miles guy. I'm amazed every week when someone comments about a shitty throw he's had. He has a weak arm and he's going to throw some wobbly ducks. He can throw the deep ball fine and had already proven that last season. I love him in short yardage situations and near the goal line. He's fucking huge. He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he's mobile. Everything about him signals to him being a leader and a winner. Petersen and the players seem impressed by him and the players made it especially evident how much more they like him than Lindquist. They have different games, but I think he has a lot of similarities to Tui. -
