Its the chemistry of the brain. I knew a girl who was about a 9 on the looks and body scale. Just a friend, she used to bake me and my roommates pies and cookies when she would come over to watch football or just hang out with everyone, as sweet as she could be. Everyone wanted to date her but my buddies and I were protective of her. Could have had anyone she wanted in the entire world. She loved men who beat her.
We begged her to get help and get it all figured out. No history of abuse in her family, parents were awesome. They sent her to every help source they could find. She just wasn't wired right. I knew of 3 or 4 of the men she dated and lived with. All of them beat her. Finally, one paralyzed her and she has been in a wheelchair for 15 years. After all that shit, she is still looking for that asshole who treats her like crap. It is a defect in her brain. Her parents were told as much. -
