    Putin did in fact ask William Jefferson Clinton for Russia to join NATO and was rebuffed.

    Considering NATO's charter was to be a defense alliance the former Soviet Union, the joining of NATO by Russia would render the necessity of that charter inherently moot.

    Bakhmut is a city of 70k that Russia has spent 9 months trying to take, and still hasnt fully taken.
