Oh, fuck, that's awful... it is short on details of what happened... drown?

It wasn't just the punt returns, which were always fun, but the first time he lined up for a field goal, since we? had no kicker. The entire stadium was dead was quiet, no idea what was going to happen. You could hear a pin drop in Husky Stadium. Then he lined up and kicked a perfect field goal, crowd erupted, a lot of laughter too of relief that it worked. "I don't need a kicking coach" the papers quoted him remarking.

All that tension for something like a 29-yarder! LOLAOG said:It wasn't just the punt returns, which were always fun, but the first time he lined up for a field goal, since we? had no kicker. I've mentioned this before, but the first kid to meet Joe at the fence wearing the green jacket was my brother.Hypnotique said:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diOuI92kHQ8
SHAKE THE FENCE!!!
He actually broke his finger when Joe gripped over it and shook. I was a few feet behind and it was truly one of those special moments that keeps you a fan for life. -
The comments on the Seattle Times article are really good, I feel awful for his wife, kids, and family: https://seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/popular-former-washington-football-player-joe-jarzynka-found-dead-on-sol-duc-river/#comments
Man, life is so strange sometimes. Someone universally well liked for decades dies young and then horrible people die in jail who are twice as old.
If there is a GoFundMe for his kids, I would certainly donate to it. -
The other incident was when he returned a punt for a TD

The Sol Duc is no river to take lightly. I know a number of experienced boat operators that have had bad days on it - and going in the drink with waders on is never a good time.
RIP, Joe -
This place. Ts & Ps to his loved ones.

This makes the Throbber sad. One of my favorite dawgs ever.
