Why can’t Washington get into Maryland and Rutger’s conference?

Rutgers and Maryland were added to the Big Ten in 2014. It’s not like that were charter members in 1895 or something.
Keep in mind that by the time Rutgers had been added to the Big Ten, they had already been rejected by the ACC in favor of every other charter member of the Big East football conference except for West Virginia (not an academic fit) and Temple. (Who was so bad the Big East kicked them out.) If the Big Ten invites an ACC reject like Rutgers but doesn’t invite us, then that means that they’ll end up preferring just about every ACC member over Washington in 2036.

Still phrasing it like they chose them over UW. 2014 is nearly a decade ago. It was a different world and the conference was looking to expand. They let in a couple of homeless teams to fill in #s. It isn't a relevant comparison to what's going on now -
