Why is Ohio State Football canceling series of games with Washington Huskies?

That is the understatement of the year. Ms. Cohen has her hands full here.

"They signed a contract!" is what I'm hearing.

What's done is done. I'm now more interested in figuring out who the replacement team will be in 2024. My vote is travel to Hawaii and give me a nice vacation. I'm sure Pete has Jenn calling Boise State right now. Might as well get it over with and do an early preview home game against San Diego State or SMU. What we probably end up with is a second shit-tier opponent like San Jose State or something.

I did see that we have a 2029 and 2030 home and home with Tennessee, and Tennessee currently does not have a big non-conference game booked for 2024. Maybe that series can get pushed up.

Go here to search for recommendations for Jenn. https://fbschedules.com/future-college-football-schedules/

Ohio State just took out a 50 million dollar loan, they need more home games so coming to Seattle (along with possibly UCLA or USC) makes it even harder.

Basically, tOSU is broke. Again, the reported NIL numbers are way off, and donations there seem to be low.

So, are we not going to get non conference games against Big Ten schools from now on, because the Big Ten schools feel they have enough trips to the West Coast by playing USC and UCLA?

Conference games against San Diego State and SMU (and possibly even UNLV and UTSA if the PAC seriously does the 14 team expansion Canzano wrote about a day or two ago), no non-conference games against Big Ten teams, and maybe a few non-conference games against SEC schools if we’re lucky. What a nightmare.

Best hope for guaranteed P5 OOC is to have the Pac-12 do an agreement with the ACC or Big 12

UW will always struggle to attract P5 teams since Seattle is so far from every other OOC school (the closest is Nebraska)
