Thats a great video. Bruce King's voice is like a time machine. A couple observations, I'm not seeing much purple in those crowds. A lot of brown corduroy out there. Second, I'm seeing some empty seats in venerable Husky Stadium. Playing P5 opponents Virginia and defending Big 8 champ Colorado must not have been a big draw. Maybe it was the start times. Was there a showing of Death of a Salesman in town? I jest, I jest. A little before my time but plenty of names my dad talked about and players I read about in 100 years of Husky Football. I must have read that book 1000 times. My copy as a kid was in such tatters that I bought another when I was in my 30's. The stories and pictures were captivating to a ten year old Knowledge. CSB, I know.

You jest, you jest, but in reality, the "Husky football" we old farts "remember" was basically a 10-12 year span from the early 80's to early 90's. The rest of it has been sporadically really good teams for a few years with some really mediocre spells mixed in.

    Same as it ever was.

James did win his first 20 games over 5 years against the mountain NW teams before a shocking home loss to Oregon in 1980. Also lost to Navy. Also lost the Rose Bowl to Michigan
