The jury is still out as to whether DeBoer's tenure at UW will best that of Pete's.
But one thing's for sure, a Peterman team (with comparable talent) would have never won that game on Sat. -

UW was in position to take control back and shit the bed.
Henry missed the field goal but Petersen lost the game -
He followed up the 2018 masterpiece with the one in 2019, another winnable game. That was the last complete Huskies game I watched. My doog was shot multiple times and its corpse set ablaze.RaceBannon said:

I'm not a fan of these oversimplified takes on coaches or players. Good coaches have kickers miss kicks sometimesRaceBannon said:

Pete had a lot of kickers miss big kicks, esp at BoiseCanadawg said:

2018 sucked, but 2019 was inexcusable -
After watching that roll out from 1st and goal I’m glad they fucking kicked itRaceBannon said:Great coaches go for touchdowns

After watching them fail 8 times at first and goal from the 1 against MSU, I'm very suspect of their short yardage gameNeGgaPlEaSe said:

I was not surprised we couldn't convert on 3rd down on that final drive after the turnover on downs -
Agreed.RaceBannon said:

However, my feeling is isn't so much about Pete vs OR and DeBoer vs Oregon, but rather that DoBoer managed to something Pete never did in 6 years at UW, which was pull off the major upset.
This game was a way bigger deal than Pete beating Sark in 2015.

Pete's pensive puckered hole makes his guys tight in crunch time.
Big dick Zebransky in 2006 was the exception, not the rule. -

But also Penix show's how much a Big Dick QB can affect a matchup.

Penix is a legit Big Penix QB. Unlike the small strap on that @dflea enjoyed a few year ago.YellowSnow said:Live look at @MikeDamone trying to handle the size of Big Dick Penix

I think over the last two decades, there are two UW coaches that win that game. Deboer, and Rick, not so much for his coaching prowess, but for his swagger.YellowSnow said:The jury is still out as to whether DeBoer's tenure at UW will best that of Pete's.

While Deboer's overall technical coaching ability is a work-in-progress (for us, anyway), I see body language and response from this team that have been missing for a long time. No panic, no moping, no out-of-control raging, stupid late-hit penalties, over-celebrating shit. He has sold them on his process.

I was guilty for sure of wanting to believe in Eason's small strap on. I famously proclaimed in @UW_Doog_Bot 's living room watching the 2019 EWU replay that Skinny was gonna corn hole the Pac and win the Heisman.MikeDamone said:

Penix still frustrates me at times with the interceptions at inopportune times (the overall ratio is fine) but fuck that guy is clutch at times. -
I was burned by Lockner. I don’t get burned twice. #Neverforget.YellowSnow said:

I think Penix is probably top 5 all time UW QB. If he were to come back maybe even all time greatest. Too bad there is not a decent running back. The Oline also is playing well (finally). -
If Penix ends the year without missing a game due to injuries, Scott Huff gets to be in the UW Hall of Fame. Hi @RaceBannon .MikeDamone said:

If you want to keep hating and fucking with Btp, remember his preseason statement that running backs don't matter.MikeDamone said:

Penix is getting hit more every game. The lack of sacks are on him
Morris would have been sacked 60 times by now
It's the head coach who is saving Huff
Still can't gain a fucking yard -
-
He's hard as hell to sack for a guy who isn't all that nimble. It's mainly just awareness and the ability to sling it quickly. Amazingly he tends to quickly sling it to an open receiver more often than not.RaceBannon said:Penix is getting hit more every game. The lack of sacks are on him

Nix is clever about avoiding sacks too. He had a couple of pretty creative throwaways. Otherwise UW has three sacks in that game. -
Petersen got to see what a UW team looks like in a big game that doesn't give a shit about their flaws and balls tf up.

People forget Pete fucked away the 2015 game as well. At a minimum Pete should have been 4-2 against Oregon based on those matchups.UW_Doog_Bot said:
