Glad we didn't pursue Caleb Pressley or Josiah Wagoner all that hard. This db group is stacked

Probably see how shitty our position coaches are and know to go somewhere betterbananasnblondes said:Glad we didn't pursue Caleb Pressley or Josiah Wagoner all that hard. This db group is stacked

Meat Martin will be Pressley’s coach at Oregon. Doesn’t get much worse than that. A guy fired by Sark and Mora. Great resume.whatshouldicareabout said:

Zero yards on six carries and 3 catches for 44 yards v. West Linn before injury in the 2nd. West Linn won 45-6.TUDwag said: -

UW needs a 7 carry a game jitterbug back and a big thumper back. We can’t trust any of our RB to get a couple of yards falling forward

Apparently there's talk in Duck land that RB Byron Cardwell may redshirt the rest of the year and transfer. Might be a guy worth looking at
-
I'd be all for that but he's got to be able to block, run routes and catch. I'm pretty sure Cam Davis isn't the feature back right now because of blocking and route running. Keep Penix upright and run the appropriate depths in the route tree for proper spacing. He's clearly got a higher upside as a runner than Papa but something his whole career has always kept him as a #2 or lower.bananasnblondes said:Apparently there's talk in Duck land that RB Byron Cardwell may redshirt the rest of the year and transfer. Would definitely take him since there's going to be RB spots on the roster open and he's probably comparable, if not better, than Davis.theknowledge said:

The program needs to step it up though. Looking at the Pac-12's best running backs this year, they're all portal and they're all not the Papa/Cardwell types who have been just ok at other schools.
Charbonnet - Starter at Michigan
Dye - Career production guy at Oregon
Valladay - Basically ran for 1,000 yards plus three years in the Mountain West
Irving - 700 yards and 5+ per-carry as a freshman at Minnesota -
Lol. Please happen. His parents will surpass ramming as all-time enemy #1 of HHbananasnblondes said:Apparently there's talk in Duck land that RB Byron Cardwell may redshirt the rest of the year and transfer. Might be a guy worth looking at

He'd be stupid not to. Irving and Whittington have the touches on lockdown right now. The Oregon RB room might not have the top 2 duo like they had with Smith/Morris, James/Blount, James/Barner, but this is the first time I can remember where Oregon is 4-5 deep at the position. Crazy deep.ntxduck said:

Sounds like we are getting a 24 commit soon from the QB at Garfield. Not a very exciting pickup but good to get a local kid I guess.
-
Good sign on the recruiting front. There are rumors that a couple of our current commits have been told to LEAVE by DeBoer due to shitty performance in their senior seasons.
While recruiting still sucks, this is a good sign that DeBoer may care about winning -

Not sure. Just read that there are some. I do know that one of our OL commits has been hurt his entire season, we have a WR/RB commit that spends a great deal of his weekends visiting other schools, and a DL commit that posts almost no stats at his HS games, leading me to believe that he may not be a starter.insinceredawg said:

Im wondering if Sua Lefotu is one. We just offered a new kid as a D-Lineman. Sua's recent twitter activity makes me assume he opening things back up.
-
Hopefully Bosco doesn't get pissed at us for dropping one of their players.
-
Lefotu was the one I was referring to who has almost no stats this year. Might be a James Smith situation (also from Bosco). I can't imagine Bosco coaches being pissed off when they are clearly not playing him that much.
-
Can we also add in likely shitty evaluation by the staff and/or acknowledging that there was a point where recruiting was bad enough that they were willing to take anybody with a pulse?bananasnblondes said:Good sign on the recruiting front. This is a fact. They did get a few decent looking guys for a bit and then missed on a lot of guys that would have had me excited. But a lot of reached in there.Tequilla said:
