Hardcore Husky Podcast: Michigan State is where the Rubber Meets the Road

With the Kent State and Portland State scrimmages behind us, we focus on the upcoming tilt against #14 Michigan State. (We like to refer to football games as "tilts". It's what we like to do.) The Huskies also seem to be in great hands with coach Kalen DeBoer. AD Jen Cohen may have just lucked out after the Jimmy Lake debacle and general mismanagement. This is probably our most optimistic podcast in ages! Shout outs go to @dnc, @PostGameOrangeSlices, @Swaye and @CFetters_Nacho_Lover.

Joey's statement on Deboer at about 45:00 is 100% what the dooging is about.

@JoeEDangerously we had an argument about Zach Wilson? I don't remember, maybe I was pumping him up to make UW look more formidable or something. Jesus, what a horrible year outside of beating a shit SC.

Forgot to say the paths of Eason and Wilson after that game are pretty stunning given how the two looked in that game. BYU sucks. Oregon probably rag dolls them in Eugene.

I’ll address the elephant in the room. Road dawg (Joe?) is a slow talker, takes ages to make a point, rambles with long pauses between incoherent statements. Dude is making this podcast difficult to listen to.

    Otherwise great podcast!

If anyone fits that description it would be me.

Also, Roaddawg wasn't on this most recent podcast.

Disagree. Baylor is Oregon souf. Ergo, BYU with Nacua and Mitt back win in Springfield. Wait…are they healthy?🤷‍♂️

I don’t know what else to say than Joey and I were talking about how the Fresno State coach would be a good and realistic hire even before the Great Sacrifice of Ruperake. I always thought it was a good but unspectacular hire and have only really been uneasy when the coordinator and assistant hires were mostly disappointing and recruiting was a cemetery.

We’re two weeks in with games against Terrible programs. We have a long way to go.

Yes for sure. As for me, I remember wanting Campbell and saying that DeBoer's resume looked good and if we couldn't have a big-name splash he would be better than a lot of other candidates out there, albeit it would feel like we were going on the cheap (especially after Jen said money was not an issue). But I've never said I called the DeBoer hire and advocated for it all along.

I’ll address the elephant in the room, you add nothing here and if anything detract from the boards.

Tupatala ruptured his Achilles after ZTF and looks pretty good right now.

He's doing a lot better than I expected, given that his only other offers out of HS were from Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah St
