I think I peed a little.

I don't even care if he DOES blow it up ad start over, as clearly Sark's philosophy of roster building and personnel decisions didn't work. I'm fine with 3 years of 8-9 wins before blowing up as the foundation Petersen builds will be sturdier than anything Sark would have built as the bottom fell out from under him every single year
-
Mello, your post makes sense. Petersen is undoing much of what Sarkisian did. Nothing else he can do. His system is different. Gotta be tough on players having a new coach no matter the team. Sure will be interesting to see what Coach P does with what he has the next three years.
-
The doogs who think there's a seamless transition presume that the talent level is the same, we didn't lose anything, and that Sark left a dynamic and depth-filled roster when he left. The roster is fine, but going 8-5 is fine in Year 1. Not ideal, but fine as long as penalties are down and discipline is up,
-
Don't want another 3 years of rebuilding, but they were perfectly content with 5-4 and constantly hearing next year would be special.
Jesus ... I bet Kim is making a mint selling these dumb fuckers ocean front property in Arizona. -

Saban, Holtz, Stoops, and even douchebags like Chimp and Petrino turned pretty average programs into big winners fast ( Oregon won 10 games or something the year before but they had some 5-8 win years from 2002-2007). The talent is there. its not top five SEC SEC SEC talent, but it is top 20. There's always going to be some attrition, but there would be attrition regardless. He gets paid three and a half million dollars to change the culture and be effective relatively fast. The coaches mentioned all did it pretty fast.
He doesn't need to go at 12 and one and make the playoffs by next yr., but if they're 9-5 with a relatively easy schedule, then 7-6 again, then 8-5, that's just treading water. Luckily I see him doing better than that. There's not a magic winning percentage, or goal or bowl, other than the Rose Bowl IMO. It's improvement, beating Oregon, doing better than 5-4 yearly, taking back the Pacific Northwest which is rightfully UW'S and being in the top three or four in the conference on a consistent basis, & Yes Rose Bowl relatively quickly... been way too long.... -
So are the same folks going to blame Sark for the dreckfest OL we'll probably roll out next year because Sark didn't believe in recruiting OL? Don't remember Peterman running off any legit OL...or is Stringfellow now a future 1st round OT as well
-
No, Petersen hasn't run off any OL but Kohler retired and Hindy left the program.HoustonHusky said:So are the same folks going to blame Sark for the dreckfest OL we'll probably roll out next year because Sark didn't believe in recruiting OL? Our OL next year should be somewhat decent. We should return Tanigawa for a 6th year since he missed 2012 due to an ACL tear (Hi Ivan!). That'd give us 2 of our starting OL back (Charles and Tanigawa), while plugging in Eldrenkamp, Coleman Shelton, and Tufunga at LT, RT and RG. It'd be a senior laden OL with Charles, Tanigawa, and Tufunga being SRs, but we'd return Eldrenkamp and Shelton for 2016. -
people, stop talking and typing... that Bat Signal image means we can't read this thread anymore. LOL
-
In regards to rebuilding or transitioning, it will be complete at the end of next season. Year 3 is usually the telling year or the first three years are. Next year w/o OL experience and losing Shelton, Peters & Kikaha will make it somewhat of a rebuilding year. Year 3 you will still have Cyler, both backs, Ross, Daniels at TE plus the current fresh/sophs on D who we've already talked about quite a bit. The challenge will be rebuilding the OL.
-
I wouldn't count on that. It seems like guys who get a 6th year are those that typically miss more than 1 year due to injury.whatshouldicareabout said:

Yup, and look at that line (and depth) if/when there is no Tanigawa next year.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:

If only Peterman hadn't run off Hindy... -
Where is ISIS when you need them?

Jim Owens was 3-7 his first year

Peter gets 5 years. I said 8-5 this year should be expected and every fuck here shit themselves, sayng 11 wins is expected.. How quickly things change.
Fuck its one game. Peter and this team will be fine. -
Tanigawa had season ending knee injuries in 2011 and 2012.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:I wouldn't count on that. It seems like guys who get a 6th year are those that typically miss more than 1 year due to injury.
The 2012 one qualifies under the NCAA hardship waiver (medical redshirt).
Guess we'll find out. -
Looks like we have some art aficionados around here
Under great coaches (and I believe CP is a great coach) and as Don James said, teams improve the most between Week 1 and Week 2. Now CP and staff get back their #1 QB and they have another week to work with a young secondary. I wish KW was 100%, that we were better at RG, and that Riva was back at RT but at least we didn't have any sloppy turnovers or special teams melt-downs. We also had 4 sacks on D and Lavon Coleman seems to be a revelation. -

That was true until your administration gave Ty his 4th year. Until you signed Petersen, from Ty's 4th year on, your city deserved the Bills, well........the twelves still do, but you get my point.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:Saban, Holtz, Stoops, and even douchebags like Chimp and Petrino turned pretty average programs into big winners fast ( Oregon won 10 games or something the year before but they had some 5-8 win years from 2002-2007).
