HARDCORE HUSKY PODCAST: Penix Stands Firm in leading UW over Kent State

Of note, @JoeEDangerously and @WoolleyDoog were driving home from the game in THE BUS and the engine made lots of noise at times. It caused your host to shout to be heard, but in listening to the audio playback it's clear I could have spoken at normal volume and been heard just fine. In any event, we will soon be trying new software and recording over the internet, for hopefully clearer audio.

Wasn’t perfect but beats losing to Montana

Maybe THE BUS can be the new Alien Rape Chamber? Also, no shout out, no listen. EAFD.

Looked suspect against the run, wordsmythe. The OL against the pass was exemplary.

Good pod, pods

Good call. Should have pointed out the pass blocking was some of the best I've ever seen at UW. Kent State. I know. I know.MelloDawg said:Looked suspect against the run, wordsmythe. The OL against the pass was exemplary.
Also, the playlist was heavy 90s Seattle rock. I'm guessing they assumed almost no students and just the lunatic fringe were going to a Saturday night Labor Day weekend opener against Kent State and wanted to appease. -
You guys talking ‘bout practice?

We should come out of the tunnel to Enter Sandman.

More on the trick play, Penix sees Odunze but knows he can’t make the throw and quickly checks off to Culp and places a great throw. Wow.
-
When the OL gives you enough time to throw a trick play to your TE that far down the field, they did well. Rosengarten at RT played admirably for a redshirt freshman.WoolleyDoog said:

I don't like how it's turned into a NBA game with the seizure inducing advertising, announcer yelling, "Third down!" 50 times a game, and constant music, but if they have to play music, good choices...JoeEDangerously said:3 Metallica songs

Is it possible to download these somehow? Flying back to Sea tomorrow and would love to listen while quaffing altitude booze.

I think you can only download them if you have a Zune.sinceredawg said:Is it possible to download these somehow? Flying back to Sea tomorrow and would love to listen while quaffing altitude booze.

One observation is I thought they toned that down a bit from last year. I remember the Montana game last year that DJ Supa Sam or whatever was on the screen a lot and he only appeared twice I think. Moving the Husky Legend to after the first quarter was interesting and I'd love to know what the reasoning is.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:

Pretty easily explained. You had 25,000 at a shitty game against a nobody that started at 7:30. By 9:30, there'd be 8,500 left.WoolleyDoog said:

There has been blowouts, good or bad, where I felt bad for the legend that little attendance was left so I think I’m fine with the moveLawDawg1 said:

I left before the end of the 3rd quarter. Only other game I left early was UCLA in 08 because we took the boat from Ivar’s and the bartender was hot. I think his name was Lance. Maybe Shane. Can’t remember for sure.DerekJohnson said:

I actually enjoyed watching the game. Can’t really say I have enjoyed any games in 3 years.
The offense actually flowed and the plays made sense. That hasn’t happened in what feels like fucking decades.
Defense looked meh but not going to overreact yet.
We felt in control the entire game which thank fucking goodness. Sweating games out against Montana was laughable.
I want to believe in Penix but too many seasons of shit QB play still has me skeptical when I probably shouldn’t. -
Go mother fucking huskies.
