The Washington Deschutes. Get out before the falls. A summer tradition unlike any other back in the day

It's the pee in the water?

No. I'm shooting from the hip.

I've tubed the Snoqualmie, Truckee, Deschutes. I've cliff jumped into the American River near @Doogles shitty little studio apartment.

Yakima was pretty good back in the day. Just watch out for floating cow carcasses…

    Rogue River

Do people inner the Rogue much @DerekJohnson ? I never thought of it as a "lazy river" but more of a spot for whitewater activities.

I've done the Snoqualmie, Yakima and Shenandoah. Potomac runs too shallow. Some nice swimming holes though. Shenandoah was the warmest. I've rafted the Wenatchee and heard okay things about it from Cashmere to Wenatchee. Also heard some good things about the Methow, but also runs a bit low. I guess I'll vote for the Snoqualmie.

    Spokane River. Below the falls.

Above the falls, you gonna die.

    FO row peterpuffer.

There are some amazing sections for tubing on the Oregon Deschutes, but that's just too much water.

The Yakima has a great float that I made many years ago. Perfect amount of flow, perfect water, fun, long riffles, but too many people.

The lower Sandy ending at the I84 park in Teoutdale is a good one, but again too many people.

The upper John Day, in early June most years, is just about perfect. It's warm, clear, full of fiah if you're inclined, and moves along perfectly foe inner tubes or floaties.

Once per summer my friends and I get together here in the back yard, pack small inner tubes up the Wind to the falls, and float back down. This is pretty rough water and not for people adverse to eating shit and body surfing through some class 2-3 chutes. Fun stuff, but not for everyone.

You're 100% correct. I was going fast and thinking tubing and rafting. Should have paid closer attention to your actual question.

Tubing on the San Marcos is absolutely epic (or was 35 years ago).

There’s nothing quite like loading up on breakfast tacos at Taco Taco Cafe and floating through Hill Country with a cooler full of beer.

In MD/wva there's the harpers ferry thing which is quite fun.

But I have to do a nostalgic shout out. We had the big wooden raft with the monitor speakers on the salt lake back in college.

Guitar center warranty ...they always take it back and replace free of charge no questions.

    Blew probably like 10 lol.

You definitely don't want to tube the Rogue. Very rough for tubing

I do the Green Wall upside down and backward on an air mattress.

I really did that in a dream once.

More specifically I woke up from the dream right as I hit the lead in, kind of like how you wake up from falling in a dream.

@IPukeOregonGrellow so back in good old days of river floats, one had to buy big old tractor tire inner tubes from Les Schaub, get some free beef, and fill them up at a gas station (or have an air compressor you could run off your car). The new technology is far, far better.

At any rate, how did that work back in the old day in Oregon. Did you have to say fill my tube, Duck?

I’ve swum in the Clark Fork @RoadDawg55 where it seemed like good floating.

It's kind of sad that I live in the HQ town of Les Schwab and I will never buy tires there.

I'm Team Discount Tire all the way.
