    Lived in Pearl and near Rose Garden in Portland before having kids and then moved out of all of that bullshit.

    I think Wilcox is an excellent coach who would be able to succeed at Oregon. The dream job = not stepping stone wasn’t a significant factor, him being an alumnus was more of a bonus.

    Don’t get me wrong, I’m equally satisfied with Lanning who is more exciting and has a high recruiting ceiling. Wilcox is a more proven commodity with HC experience, and before people say 7-5 is the commodity - don’t forget how many times he’s out coached the superior talent Cristobal or Petersen has. Give him Oregon’s roster and I think he could have a 9 win floor and a CFP loss ceiling. He wouldn’t recruit like is expected nowadays, but contrary to what some think I believe in wins over star ratings.

    Nate Costa was just interviewed by Clownzano last week, and when asked who the best coach in the conference is he had no hesitation on Wilcox. It’s a very unexciting prospect, hence the fan rebellion, but it’s not a rare opinion.

    Wilcox is the PAC 12 master of barely losing to, or beating, teams above his weight class. But he kind of sucks otherwise, so dunno what that makes him at SC or Oregon.

    There would be a minority that would be stoked at both UW and Oregon.

    My impression of him in person last year was that he mostly sucks.
