People turn on the electricity when they get home from work. DST gives solar an extra hour to work at peak electrical demand. Do it for the planet.

I imagine there are a lot of folks stuck in factories, service workers, etc who don't get much of a peek outside all day long. This will at least allow your evening commute to have some daylight.

everyone needs to think like a politician to figure out what is best for the little guy.
First - get rid of Mountain Time - doesn't affect that many people anyway
Second - now you have three time zones - get rid of the early and late one and go with Central time. and only Central time
Third - Screw Hawaii and Alaska - they are way behind anyway
Fourth - would not matter if it was CST or CDT everyone would be unhappy - typical Government move -
