    I said no because he got guaranteed money before he hit free agency. For a pitcher, that is huge. If the Mariners continue to suck, he will eventually be traded.

    How did he light money on fire? The Mariners made him the highest paid pitcher two years before he hit free agency. Pitchers get hurt all the time, so securing your money was a good move by him.

    Had he been patient, he would have gotten more from the Yankees.
