Yamamoto said “I would never invade America, there is a gun behind every blade of grass.” People forget that.

Just finished Season I of 1883 and now have to wait a year for Season II. I saw that they green lighted a new spinoff "1932" about the Duttons and the Great Depression in Montana on the Yellowstone.PurpleThrobber said:Sledog said:Yamamoto said “I would never invade America, there is a gun behind every blade of grass.” People forget that.

They must have had hundreds of gunshots during season I and no one died. Alec Baldwin is still the clubhouse leader. -
The scene with Billy Bob Thorton in I believe episode two or three was unreal. Too bad he isn't a regular character in the show.WestlinnDuck said:

The Throbbers' grandfather lost his ranch during the Great Depression. Ended up as an alcoholic grave digger. Grandma took in laundry to pay the bills. The townfolk essentially sent her dirty clothes because she was too proud to take charity. Lost two kids in the process - one to disease, one to WWII. One of my two dad's made it through college on the GI Bill and it was off to the races.WestlinnDuck said:

That's two generations removed. You can kind of see how the Throbber doesn't buy into the whole 'oppressed' bullshit. Make your own way in this country with the opportunities that abound here.

Luckily that’s always been my position.
Can relate. My grandmother slept in a drawer when she was a kid. Family is largely still white trash, but somehow I lucked out with hard work and determination.PurpleThrobber said:

Sounds like Russia more against censorship than the US. I’m half kidding.
