A few weeks ago, some posters on Hardcore Husky were saying they didn't know much about the Don James years at Washington. They said it would be great to hear discussion about it. So Derek and Race will be recording some podcasts about various seasons from the James Era. This episode they tackle the 1977 Rose Bowl season. They meandered a bit, but it makes for good listening.

One detail I was going to bring up but we skipped quickly past the San Jose State game, was that the SJSU game was referenced in the Ted Bundy movie called The Deliberate Stranger. Bundy is lying in bed with his girlfriend in a scene set in 1977, and talking about how casual sex doesn't appeal to him. He said it appealed to him about as much as sitting in the cold rain of Husky Stadium watching a game against San Jose State.

Finally got around to listening to the entirety of the pod. Race described Jim Owens nearly word for word as my grandfather did back when I was a kid.
