He beat up on shit competition while still fucking around with Barstool podcasts and a bunch of other non-coaching stuff with his time. He’d get ran by any halfway decently coached team, despite the talent he’d attract
Beat up on them ... with what? He didn't go into any of those games with a P12 roster. I mean, I have no idea how he'd do, but the rationale that he played shitty schools doesn't track. Or does Jack State pull in the croots?
I voted yes because it would be stupid and fun but I'm intrigued by early indications that DeBoer is zero horseshit and all about ball (I like to say ball instead of football). Every coach in the last 30 years except I guess the James disciples had a certain amount of horseshit to their act, including Pete. It's too early to tell if he's the real deal but I'm kind of looking forward to a guy that shuts the fuck up and just does his job and doesn't complain, deal in hypotheticals, or crow about the best Oline in football.
If you think UW OLine play is shitty you should watch HBCU’s I voted no simply because I’m not sure how well his assistants would be at UW, Thurman would be an incredible DC, but his OC and position coaches are mostly 1-3 years removed from HS or Juco ball.
If you watch the YouTube series “Coach Prime” you’ll get a good look into how he coaches, I like him a lot, just doesn’t quite have the experience that I’d wish for.
Yes, I’d take Deboer’s COACHING resume over Prime’s, but that’s not to say that Prime won’t be a great coach, and that I know absolutely fucking nothing.

Who knows. The overriding point is that one winning season at the FCS level doesn't demonstrate much. String together a dominant run spanning a few years and then maybe you're qualified for a G5 job. Paul Wulff at least made the FCS playoffs a handful of times. Let's wait for Deion to at least make them once before we crown his ass.

That's fair. I mean, honestly, I'm surprised at how seriously he's taking this coaching thing. I assumed it was for attention, but he seems to actually give a shit and want to be good at it.
All I know about Sanders is that he made George Seifert and Steve Young, who orchestrated what is arguably one of the most sophisticated and lethal passing games of all time, cross out entire sections of the field with "do not throw there" orders. Steve Young, who is a pompous ass and doesn't appear to appreciate Deion as a person, has said this on TV. Entire quadrants of the field were just "not going there" when he was playing. And while nobody likes to acknowledge or remember it, he is the only corner I've ever seen control Jerry Rice.
And the lingering memory I'll always have of him? He did everything he did seem so fucking effortless. As great a natural athlete as I've ever seen.
