What is considered "Success" for DeBoner?

Win the North year 1
It was, but it was also with F level QB play and the team quit after ASU.PasadenaHuskyFan said:
I swear so many posters here instantly forgot how fucking shit this team was this year the second DeBoer was hired. One day he was the coach of a GOOD Fresno team the next the coach of the (arguably) shittiest Washington team since 0-12. Anyone expecting an instant turnaround to win the north year 1 is going to be disappointed.BCoveysLifeInsPolicy said:I think year one’s success should be defined by the product on the field.
Fundamentals I want to see improved:
- blocking
- tackling
- route-running
- through-the-whistle effort on every down
- defense swarming to the ball
- QB not throwing the ball into the defensive line
If those improve enough, I could see us winning the North the first year, but I don’t hold that as the measure of this team’s success. Just play better. -
Win the North year 1
Lost to Beavs by 3, UCLA by 7, Oregon by 10, ASU by 5, Colorado by 3, and Wazzu by 27.PasadenaHuskyFan said:

If DeBoer and his offense can't turn those first 5 Lake losses into wins, then he's the wrong coach.
Win those 5 games and we win the north. Shouldn't be that hard in Year 1 -
Win the North year 1This reminds me of the hollow praise Sark got his first year for turning around a winless team, when in reality, that winless team gave up on Willingham early and didn’t give a shit. Even with the shitty roster, that team should have won four games minimum.
Jump ahead to 2022, and doogs will be crowning DeBoner as the next Don James when UW goes 8-4 and plays in the Holiday Bowel.

Which means it's easier to hit 9 wins now.PasadenaHuskyFan said:

Good argument against yourself. -
Win the North year 2
not arguing against any take I had. arguing against the idea that the 0-12 team was significantly worse than 4-8. Reading comprehension is hard.UW_Doog_Bot said:

Win the North year 2If Haener was coming in I'd feel very confident we at least tie for 1st in the North next year. Huard hasn't been coached in literally years so I can doog myself into hoping, but in my heart of hearts I am extremely worried that he is actually pretty damn awful. I think we're in trouble, barring another transfer portal QB savior.

Win the North year 1I'm going to need to see the blue chip ratio

Win the North year 2Year 1 is all about instilling the culture change, developing the roster, and getting people bought in or bought out
8-4 is a really good bar … anything less and we should be really concerned
There’s reasons to be overly optimistic but there will be steps backwards before taking steps forward
The offense should turn the corner next year IMO … the talent is there
The defense is going to be a concern until proven otherwise … could be looking at a 1-3 year rebuild there to be honest
