I stand corrected...people are rioting and looting in St. Louis and stealing shoes, food, weaves and other random things not because of a systemic cultural issue that is not being addressed...its because the police have become more "militarised". That makes sense...its why we are seeing riots in New Hampshire, Iowa, Dallas, and the other locations mentioned in the Economist article after those incidents.
On a side note...shouldn't PETA have gotten involved when the tank ran over 100 cocks? -

In the argument I started, I even admitted they were racial riots but that the people are too FS to look deeper into the real issue. See my previous post. Its FS to say the 'deeper, real' issue causing the riots is the militarization of police. If the militarization of police is happening nationwide why are there riots in St Louis and in a few other specific places every so often and not nationwide? If you are pissed off about the police go ahead and vent, just don't try and back up your argument with a riot that is in reality a bunch of kids and knuckleheads (as our president would say) thinking they can use this or any incident to go nuts, steal, loot, etc. and keep ignoring the underlying societal issues that are resulting in kids growing up with that mentality.DugtheDoog said:

Its not random who reacts by rioting vs. writing vs. doing nothing vs. recalling the city councilman (as was done in the California town in one of your previous posts in the previous thread...)? What causes the difference, how should people act, and what is being done to guide people towards more responsible behavior?
Asked another way, would you see the same thing in St. Louis if the Rams somehow won the Superbowl this year?
