Wilner finally surrenders to Lunatic Fringe

If Wilner gets much of his Washington info from Cohen, this is a very positive sign.
-
I like his revisionist history of defending lake during year 1 and the off-season (when no one was calling for his job) and not when it actually was—after the 0-2 startFecalFeast said: -
But he's also since become Justin Wilcoxs shameless publicist

Wilner is an Ivy Leaguer from the Beltway who probably prefers quidditch to football, but he is capable of getting his sources to tell him shit.
His knowledge of the sport itself is somewhere between Griswold on the low end and Cohen on the high end (no mention of Lake's dogshit recruiting for nearly 2 years?)
Wilner was asleep at the wheel in recognizing Lake was in way over his head. -
Yeah he has retreated from the defend Jimmy Lake bunker and pivoted to a hire Justin Wilcox offensive.DugtheDoog said:But he's also since become Justin Wilcoxs shameless publicist

Until a couple days ago he had lake safe for another 2+ yrs.
But some1 also asked for list of who lakes replacement should be and said
1. Justin Wilcocks
2. J W
3. U I
4. S L
5. T C
6. I O

Sad fall from grace, as Wilner was one of the premier "Fire Larry Scott" advocates in the media
-
We haven't seen a media guy suck a coach's dick this hard since Sark left Montlake
-
One of the Twitters bros here should ask Wilner if Wilcox also would be the best choice to fill USC's vacancy or take over at Oregon if Cristobal left, died of AIDS, etc
-
Wilner giving cal the 2019 game (which they lost by 10) if they just had their shitty starting quarterback Is hilarious. A qb being out only moves the Vegas line about 3 points; but sure, automatic win for cal therednc said: -

I think he meant 3 straight wins in 2021 if they hadn't just lost to Arizona with their backup QB? Which I think is worse?ntxduck said:

Especially since those two wins (almost 3!) are their only wins against FBS competition all year. -
Schools like to hire coaches who beat them or who beat their rival and that brings mixed results
Pretty sure Sark got the USC job off his 2009 win
Rick definitely got the UW job by beating Oregon
UW couldn't beat Cal under Wilcox until Jimmy did this year which should have stopped the talk on the spot -
A few plays here and there, a lucky bounce or two, and we'd be 8-1!dnc said: -
Could be either 🤷🏼♂️FremontTroll said:

As stated. This is Jen telling him he is gone. This is great news.FecalFeast said: -
I mean I wish there had been Seattle writers pushing for Sark to get hired at USC in 2013 but it worked out anyway.FireHisAssNOW said:We haven't seen a media guy suck a coach's dick this hard since Sark left Montlake

If the threshold for being a good coach is staying within one score of Oregon a couple of times pretty much every head coach in the country is on the table, including Lake.

Academically prowess you lack. 26-16=10MikeSeaver said:If the threshold for being a good coach is staying within one score of Oregon a couple of times pretty much every head coach in the country is on the table, including Lake.

That was made clear, last week.AtomicDawg said:

But still… -
In his heart of hearts Wilner knows Wilcox is the answer.
-
Pushing for his boy Wilcox. That would be typical UW THUD!!
-
Wilcox is mediocrity personified.
-
Wilcox would be a terrible hire. Which is why it is probably going to happen.
-
Jen working thru Wilner trying to get off on the cheap. Checking fan reaction to the hire.

Media = Medium = Hypnotizing Minds
When a story is getting out like this one is it's usually preparing the readers/fanbase for a future paradigm related event.
I like Jimmy Lake as a person but not as the head coach of the UW football team. I supported his hire early on until he hired John Donovan as his OC then questioned his judgment. African American head coaches in college football are few and far between especially at power 5 programs. If Lake had been provided an opportunity that many dream of he should hire, surround himself with the best people to ensure the best possible environment for his head coaching tenure. He failed at that big time with the hiring of a secretarial assistant to the assistant RB coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars at UW TE coach Derham Cato's recommendation.
Jimmy Lake, if fired-resigns-bought out, has no one to blame but himself in this situation. He gave a lot ammunition to everyone that wanted him fired for whatever reason(s).
