Depends. If you want to vote for Youngkin, yes. If you want to vote for McAuliffe, get high instead and think about voting.
What if I wanna vote for a third party?

First of all welcome to the cesspool. Very brave

Seems like the explosion of the federal government has done more to turn Virginia blue than anything

You should vote early and often as always.

Hmmmmm... I've attributed it toward demographic shifts in NoVA which have brought in more non-native born voters who have tended to be D. I suppose they are drawn here by the Fed explosion which has created plenty of jobs, which has happened with both parties in power (they just argue over what to excessively spend on).

Agree that the drunken sailors are bi partisan when it comes to spending the 4 trillion or so a year that comes in

Democrats are more likely to choose a government career. Stats are closer than you think according to a quick search but once people are lined up at the trough....

Virginia has a county richer than Beverly Hills. Demographics have definitely changed

    Better House Values for me!!!

Seriously tho, there is a separation between government career and government contracting career. The military/security-industrial complex and just gov IT contracting complex is real.

The government civil servant is blue and works for Health and Human services or the Dept of Education or the Smithsonian or whatever and lives in DC/Alexandria/Arlington.

The C-level and sales guys for the Contracting complex lives in Loudoun and print dollars and vote red. The IT guys they depend on just got off the boat and also live in Loudoun and vote blue. (Though usually the second generation well-off immigrants turn red)
Seriously, the amount of money in some of this is just nuts, but it's what drives the "high-income in the cuntry" stats.

It is what it is. My private sector career with zero government influence (for realz, my job could be done anywhere) straddles the two, though since we're IT we have similar views as the IT contracting complex.

Fox reporting how Close it going to be. Like close, really close, close, close, close. Preparing for the steal they know is coming. Youngkin "hanging in there" in Loudoun. Youngkin kicking ass in the rural areas.

My precinct over the past few elections. It has not materially grown in terms of housing at all in 10 years:

Election, Year, R votes, D votes
    Pres 2016 898 992
    Gov 2017 703 730
    Pres 2020 540 244
    Gov 2021 742 585

The move to absentee ballots throws these numbers off, but would appear Youngkin is outperforming compared to 2017.

Oh and Princess got 6! votes.... WTG Princess
