for some reason I think I was golfing that day and listening to the game on radio - Joe Steele fumble as UW was driving to basically end the game? I could, odds are, be wrong

I listened to it as I “prepared” to go to my high school homecoming…no pics, no coitus, victory or otherwise…

It wasn't on TVLebamDawg said:for some reason I think I was golfing that day and listening to the game on radio - Joe Steele fumble as UW was driving to basically end the game? I could, odds are, be wrong
Defending Rose Bowl champs vs. Bama -
Also I recall Gaines drops but not a Steele fumble

I miss America damn it!

Incredible that the game wasn't televised. At least considering today's sisters of the poor (e.g. UW) get all their games televised.

When I interviewed Don James at Husky Stadium, he smiled and pointed toward the field and said "I can still see Spider dropping that pass now. It would have been an easy touchdown."RaceBannon said:Also I recall Gaines drops but not a Steele fumble
When I interviewed Joe Steele, he said that his fumble on the 30-yard line in the final minutes still haunts him to this day.
My dad took my grandpa to that game and I had to stay home and listen on the radio. It took me years to forgive papa.
He brought home that game program, which I had for years before somehow it got lost. -
Damn - I remembered the fumble correctly

You should have killed Gramps and crawled to Husky Stadium thru broken glass on your hands and knees. That’s what a real Dawg Fan would have done!DerekJohnson said:

It was a great game ~ the game started off as an apparent mismatch as Alabama relentlessly bullied the dawgs throughout the first third of the game ~ however, the Dwags stayed in the game on the scoreboard and in the third quarter everyone in the stands could feel the momentum shift as the dawgs started to assert their power game... as the 4th quarter evolved, the Dawgs were systematically dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and as they were driving for what would have been the game winning score, everyone in the stands [and on both sidelines] was convinced the dawgs were going to win the game.
The great thing about the game was the classic demonstration of baddass hardcore Husky mental and physical toughness against what was then thought to be the number one power program in the country... and was I think a real turning point in affirming the power culture that james was seeking to create on the national stage.
Race is right, this is Dawgs history 101.
