PSA: The comparison with Lake is Gilby

We should beat wazzu. But they actually look way better than us right now. You have a melt down every game like everyone else and then have weird undeserved optimism during the week because were Washington. . This team sucks really bad.haie said:

Dude is probably winning 3-4 games. This is not close.haie said:Jimmy is what Pete was for 3 out of his 6 years at UW, but a little shittier than that even.
6-8 wins, bend and break, overly conservative D. Get up by at least 10 at half and you're really conservative on both sides of the ball and holding on, and the opponent knows it. And absolutely shit offense in need of a Gaskin-type to keep the sticks moving to apologize for bad play calling/scheme (this year that's McGrew).
Pete lost to Utah, Arizona, Cal, Graham ASU, all sorts of teams he should have handled. Jimmy's just done it with Beavlet and Montana (Pete barely scraped by Eastern).
There will be a blowout loss somewhere in there from UCLA/ASU/Oregon.
But it's been close losses in every game except Mishitagain. -
my hate for this shit is waning - just not worth it.
Saturday I just shook my head in disbelief.
Oregon fan and I were talking he was hoping we? would beat OSU. Saw him late yesterday and said "told you we are crappy" he then said the Ducks played badly. My retort was I thought they looked fine. PAC12 national image is the ducks and they suck -
We've lost close games except Michigan, which is an outlier circumstance and our second game of the year.AtomicDawg said:

We might have a blowout loss to Stanford on the road again or one of UCLA/ASU/Oregon. But most likely Stanford will be close as well, because they're aren't a good football team either.
The 3 better teams are at home. It will be hard to blow us out at home unless the team has quit completely.
We'll have, at worst, a close loss to Wazzu and/or Colorado because that's how every game has gone except one. But then we'll take another close, lucky win somewhere else.
Math says based on everything this year, it's unlikely that we win just 3-4.
But most likely we beat Wazzu (not going to get into that, but expect a W) and Colorado (who somehow made a worse hire than we did), and Arizona who is not currently Power 5.
5 wins. 2/3 of UCLA/ASU/Oregon will be close, conservatively. Stanford a close game, most likely.
We win 5-7. Upper bound is 7-8 wins.
That is a Pete year 3/6 years. -
Mel Tucker left them for Sparty in the middle of February a week after signing day and after he told them he was staying. They didn't have much time to find a new coach without disrupting the entire offseason schedule.haie said:

This team has only begun to quit. They still have the talent to play up when they are motivated. Once any remaining motivation runs dry and they quit in earnest it's going to get a lot worse.insinceredawg said:

Michigan being an outlier I guess is fair … we’re clearly out of their league with Jimmy at the helm and Michigan still likely sucks until they prove otherwise -

Everyone wants them to lose every single game. I get that.
But I'm focusing on conference play of not just UW, but all other teams too.
Beavlet 2-0 (convincing win and unconvincing win over 2 bad staffs with more talent)
@GhostofMosster47 0-2 (they need to go to FCS NOW)
Everyone else is mediocre.
Hard to see raw talent winning just 3-4 games. Maybe Jimmy gets it done but it's unlikely given our schedule and the teams we're playing.
AGAIN: who is Jimmy most like? It's like everyone forgot that Pete was mediocre, close to being less than mediocre, 3/6 years with this same mindset/schemes every fucking game. -

The conference is absolutely horrible. I just see us inviting every team we play to run the ball because that’s our super secret plan. If we do that there is not a team that can’t beat us. Maybe Arizona.haie said:

I am thinking 1-3 wins. When the team quits it’s gonna get bad. Having seen cal play back to back weeks that’s a horrible football team that kicked for the win on the road vs uw.

They did not quit against Beavlet. Actually everyone looked pretty fucking confident except when they were watching Morris bounce balls off of fucking OL heads.
As a matter of fact, when they went up 24-17 with 8 minutes to go and Little Seanny McGrew was running them over, their fans started getting really fucking scared. Pete Squad saved the day though.
