I heard on the radio yesterday that the US has FOURTY-FOUR 4-star generals right now to command a military of 1.5 million soldiers (ballparking that off of memory). During WW2 the US had seven 4-star generals commanding a military of 12 million+ soldiers. It's no wonder things can't get done in an efficient manner. There is a lot of truth here. The issue is Congress has decreed that a bunch of combatant commands MUST have a 4 star. They don't need them. A 3 star could easily do it. In my world you have about a dozen 4 stars, about 3-4 dozen 3 stars, and then several dozen 1-2 stars - this is across ALL services. The bloat is real.BleachedAnusDawg said:
